That's it from us!

That's all we have time for as this season comes to an end, with Spurs coming from behind twice to run out as 4-2 winners.

Due to the result, its Liverpool and Chelsea who finish in the top four, despite Chelsea losing their game against Aston Villa as Leicester agonisingly miss out once again.

Thank you for joining us on this stream and be sure to stick around as we pick apart the match.

A huge opportunity missed

Due to Chelsea's result, a win for the Foxes would have guaranteed a top four finish but the performance capitulated in the final 15 minutes with the Spurs equaliser.

All three of the goals conceded were avoidable as mistakes at the back ultimately cost the East Midlands side the taste of Champions League football once again.

It will be a tough one to take for Rodgers and his side as they miss out on the final day for the second consecutive season.

A sour end to what was still a successful campaign.

Full time: Leicester 2-4 Spurs

After getting themselves into such a promising position, with other results working in their favour, Leicester come short as they not only lose 4-2 on the day, but their place in the Champions League.

Vardy and Kane both scored in the first half as they went in at the break level but Vardy's second penalty of the match put the Foxes back in contention of a top four finish.

Spurs equalised through unfortunate goalkeeping on Schmeichel's part and then took the lead through Bale.

The Welshman would secure the win in final stages with his second of the match, condemning Leicester to the Europa League while securing their place in the Conference League.

Thoughts for the match

What a big one this is! Both teams need the win to get themselves in contention with the best possible finish, but both also know that they need their competition to faulter in order to achieve it.

With so much on the line, it is hard to see either team grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck from the first minute as both will want to feel their way into it and avoid any early mistakes.

Dele Alli's return to the lineup will give Spurs an attacking boost as his qualities give the away side an extra dimension going forward as he looks to reignite his partnership with Harry Kane.

Kelechi Iheanacho's return to the starting lineup should give Leicester an attacking edge that they seemed to be lacking against Chelsea with him on the bench, with the Foxes hoping that James Maddison can return to his best after the midfielder's strugglsd since returning from injury.

The first goal could be more than crucial in the match, as we saw in last season's crunch match between Leicester and Manchester United last season, and neither team will want to concede such a heavy blow so this match might be a cagey affair.

Ryan Mason on Leicester

Spurs interim boss Ryan Mason expects a tough game against Leicester, as he told Spurs' official website that both sides need the win.

"Both teams are playing for something – obviously they’ve got their own ambitions and we have ours, so it’s going to be a game where both teams are going to have to be fully focused. I’m sure we both respect each other, we respect them as a football team and a football club, but our attention has to be on us and how we can win the game. The desire is to win, that’s the most important thing. Like I said, Wednesday hurt – it did – just the manner in which it happened is tough to take but the beauty of football is we’ve got another game three or four days later so we have to pick ourselves up and be in the right frame of mind to hopefully go and get three points.”

Brendan Rodgers on the final game

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, when asked about the final match in his pre-match press conference, suggested that his team would be unlucky to miss out on a top four spot due to the amount of points that they have accumulated, though they should still be proud of what they have achieved this campaign.

“This week has been about perspective. That’s something I will look back over the course of the season, everything we have had to deal with, a European campaign, injuries to key players. Our concentration is winning the game against a talented Spurs team. If we finish on 69 points and don’t make it into the Champions League, we have been unfortunate. Everyone has had to work so hard with the scheduling of the games. In the last game, we are fighting with two of Europe’s biggest clubs for a place in the Champions League. Have we improved? We certainly have.”

Last meeting between the sides

The Foxes will be hoping that history can repeat itself as they ran out 2-0 victors in the sides' last meeting.

Jamie Vardy opened the scoring from the penalty spot with virtually the last kick of the first half after Wesley Fofana was fouled in the box.

James Maddison thought he doubled the lead soon after the restart but was denied by the tightest of margins by VAR.

The 2-0 lead was eventually secured by the hardwork of Vardy however, as his header was diverted into the back of the net by Toby Alderweireld and the score stayed that way as the Foxes came away with all three points.

All on the line for both teams

It has reached crunch time for many as the final game of the season is upon us and Leicester and Spurs are no exceptions. Both teams are fighting for European places and both need the win to ensure that it happens.

Leicester's situation is a bit more complex as not only do they need to win, but they one of Chelsea or Liverpool to slip up if they want to hear the Champions League anthem ring around Filbert Way once again.

Spurs meanwhile need the win to hold onto seventh position and book their place in European competitions while fending off fierce rivals Arsenal in the process.

There are many other subplots in the match with departures and potential departures dominating the pre-match coverage.

The Foxes will be saying goodbye to club legends Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs, while Spurs will hope that it is not the last time that Harry Kane will start up front for them as his future looks in doubt.
