FINAL-TIME: West Ham United 3-0 Southampton FC

The season is over. And what a bloody season it was.

The ship to Europe has sailed and the Hammers got themselves a comfortable seat en route straight towards the Europa League group stages.

I want to thank anyone and everyone who joined me here at VAVEL and read my sometimes valuable, sometimes funny and the ones that I wrote completely drunk live commentaries.

It was a pleasure and a phenomenal ride. A true rollercoaster.

See you guys next season. Rzepa's out.

HALF-TIME: West Ham United 2-0 Southampton FC

What a half.

Pablo Fornals with a three-minute brace to catapult the Hammers into a very favourable position as Spurs currently draw 1-1 against Leicester City.

Can the midfielder get his first-ever Premier League hat-trick?

GOAL: West Ham 2-0 Southampton

IT'S TWO! AND IT'S FORNALS AGAIN!

Vladimir Coufal touched the ball down after a missed clearance, crossed into the box and the Spanish playmaker was there to volley it home!

The Hammers are in a dreamland.

GOAL: West Ham 1-0 Southampton

BUT IT IS GOOD ENOUGH NOW!

And it's Fornals with the strike to bring the Hammers' one inch closer to their target!

Phenomenal from Bowen who skipped past multiple defenders before getting a shot off forcing Alex McCarthy to a tough save and Fornals managed to tap in the rebound.

29' What a chance for the Hammers!

Pablo Fornals could've secured his teams' league place but his finish wasn't good enough.
16:24a month ago
23' Stuart Armstrong with a shot following a corner, but it was high and wide.

A minute earlier Kyle Walker-Peters could've and realistically¬†should've¬†scored, but ŇĀukasz FabiaŇĄski managed to¬†save.

20' Not much going on so far outside of West Ham being wasteful with set-pieces and being the more comfortable team in possession so far.
16:14a month ago
13' And on a counter-attack straight from West Ham's half-chance the Saints could've scored, but Takumi Minamino's chipped effort was wide.
16:11a month ago
11' Decent opening from the hosts but Michail Antonio's cross had been cleared.
16:09a month ago
8' West Ham thought they've won a corner after some good work from Jarrod Bowen, but the linesman's flag went up for offside.

The Hammers are coming into the final matchday of the season off the back of a crucial 3-1 win against already relegated West Bromwich Albion, which marked the clubs' second win in the previous five games.
