That's all for now!

Congratulations to Aston Villa for winning their first FA Youth Cup since 2002. It seems like this could be a golden generation for the Villians.

Thanks to all those who joined the live feed tonight. Be sure to keep an eye on for all of the latest news, features, and interviews during the off-season.

Fulltime Aston Villa 2-1 Liverpool.

Aston Villa win the 2021 FA Youth Cup thanks to goals from Chrisene and Young early in the first half. Credit to Aston Villa they're worthy winner after what was, largely, a thoroughly professional performance.

Liverpool left in late but ultimately couldn't claw themselves back into the contest.

It must be said, it was a fantastic watch for the neutral.

Morton floats a cross into the box but Quansah heads it straight into the hands of Villa's goalkeeper.

3 added minutes

The fourth official has indicated there will be 3 added minutes at the end of the second half.

Will there one last chance for Liverpool?

A late flurry of half-chances for the away side as Villa look to be stuttering over the finish line.

4,406 in attendance

4,406 fans inside Villa Park tonight. Fantastic attendance and wonderful for those young lads to be able to experience a crowd like this.

Balagizi has a tame effort from just outside the box with his, weaker, left foot.

Fantastic save from Davies to deny Ramsey from close range! That could be vital.

Liverpool left it late to come from behind in their last FA Youth Cup triumph in 2019, before winning on penalties.

Could history repeat itself as we enter the final stages...?

GOAL 2-1!

Liverpool have pulled one back through substitute Frauendorf! He volleys Morton's corner, which takes a deflection before going into the Villa goal!

Lifeline for Liverpool.

Time's running out

Time's running out for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's side as we enter the final 20 minutes of the contest.

Morton's effort is whipped over the wall by there's not enough on it to bring it down and challenge Marschall in the Villa goal.

Musialowski is brought down by Revan.

25 yards from the goal.

Aaron Ramsey comes on for the goal-scorer Ben Chrisene.

Young should have put the game out of sight! His effort from 12 yards flies wide of the post.

Barry, again, beats the full-back down the right-hand side but his shot from the byline is palmed behind for a corner.

He's desperate to score in front of the 4,000 fans inside Villa Park.

Young fantastically breaks through Liverpool's high defensive line. He then tries to take it around Davies but the keeper denies him from the angle.

Liverpool started the second-half really brightly but Villa look to be taking the sting out of Liverpool's early-half momentum, by keeping the ball.

As Liverpool send bodies forward to try and retrieve possesion, Villa  hit *that* ball over the top to the electric Barry.

20:534 months ago

Great start from Liverpool as Frauendorf squares the ball to Woltman. But he squanders the chance. That's been Liverpool's problem all nights, a slight lack of composure.

Halftime change

Liverpool make one change as Frauendorf on for Corness.

The all important third goal

It goes without saying but if the next goal of the game is for Aston Villa then it would be curtains for Liverpool and Bridge-Wilkinson's side.

Villa, no doubt, have been spurred on by the near 4,000 Villians who are in attendance tonight. Something, which at this age, can be such a huge factor.

However, regardless of the outcome, it will be a massive learning curve for all of the young lads on the pitch tonight.

Halftime: Aston Villa 2-0 Liverpool

Aston Villa have been absolutely fantastic so far. Chukwuemeka has been the clear standout, everything seems to pass through him.

Plenty of time for Liverpool to get themselves back into the contest. With Balagizi & Musialowski in the final third, you'll always have a chance.

Musialowski fires well over from outside of the box.
20:224 months ago

Barry puts the hard yards in as he tracks back to disposes Balagizi. He then clips the ball to the right-hand side of the box to find Kesler, who fires his shot just wide of Davies' post.
20:184 months ago

Barry cuts in off the left-hand side and fires one well over, as he was looking to find the far corner with a speculative effort.

20:114 months ago

Chrisene smashes the post from close range. Liverpool have yet to have a sniff and If they do manage to claw their way back into the game that miss could be crucial.
20:104 months ago

Another excellent Villa break down the left-hand-side as Barry plays the ball inside. Eventually, the ball finds its way back to Villa's star man but his effort is blocked by Koumetio
20:064 months ago

Young goes so close to getting his second and Villa's third of the game. He twists and turns down the byline before creating an angle for himself, but his effort clips the outside of the post and goes behind.

Would have been one of the great FA Youth Cup goals.

It's been a really professional start from Sean Verity's men, disciplined, clinical, and sharp on the ball.
20:014 months ago

Massive chance for Liverpool to get themselves back into the game, Balagizi pounces onto some sloppy play by the home side as the ball falls to Musialowski who fires it over from just inside the box.

Massive let-off for Villa.

Brad Young dusts himself down and with a hop, skip and a jump dispatches his penalty into the bottom right corner.

Massive task for the young Reds to claw themselves back into this.

7' GOAL! 1-0!

What a goal from Ben Chrisene. Liverpool fail to clear Villa's initial corner, Raiky cuts it back to Chrisene on the edge of the box and he fires low and hard past Davies in the Liverpool goal.

Corness' corner is smothered by Marschall. as he sets Villa away on the break.

The first corner of the night goes to the away side.

Lovely work down the right-hand side by Balagizi as he beats Revan before picking out Woltman in the middle. However, Liverpool's NO.9 can't get his shot away before he is swarmed by claret Villa shirts.

We are 10 minutes away from the 2021 FA Youth Cup final getting underway as Villa Park looks to be filling up nicely. What a wonderful evening for two fantastic teams to battle it out for the most prestigious youth accolade in English football.

Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's pre-game thoughts

Marc Bridge-Wilkinson speaking to BT Sport.

"It's a great opportunity and it's a great game to be involved. Out of all the games so far we've been involved in we've had to dig deep, but we probably haven't had the full performance yet."

19:204 months ago

Ones to watch: Billy Koumetio

Sean Verity's side have been in excellent goal-scoring form on their run to the final, scoring 26 goals in their 5 matches. Meaning it could be a rather testing night for Liverpool's central defenders Billy Koumetio and Jarell Quansah. Koumetio will be a name that many Liverpool fans will recognise, as he became the Reds' youngest Champions League debutant in December 2020.

Evenly matched-up for a change...

It's not the first time Liverpool or Aston Villa's youth sides have been fielded at Villa Park.

In December 2019 Liverpool were forced to field a team made up of U23's and U18's players as Jurgen Klopp and the senior side jetted off to Qatar for FIFA Club World Cup. Aston Villa put out a fairly experienced line-up that night, as they humbled the young reds to a 5-0 defeat.

Just over a year later, in January 2021, Aston Villa and their senior side were forced to quarantine due to a Covid-19 outbreak within the camp. This time it was Liverpool's turn to reign victorious over a young Villa side in the FA Cup third round, 4-1 it finished.

It will be nice to have an even match-up tonight, that's for sure...

Team news: Liverpool

Here's how the away side, Liverpool, will lineup tonight. Donning their controversial black and red third kit.  Marc Bridge-Wilkinson has left his side unchanged from their quarter-final and semi-final victories over Arsenal and Ipswich respectively.

Liverpool's 'Polish Messi'

Mateusz Musialowski will certainly be one to keep an eye on in tonight's final. Since joining the club last summer he's earned the nickname "the Polish Messi" for his silk and nimbleness while on the ball.

His unbelievable goal against Newcastle in March won the club's goal of the month award, beating the like of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Co in the process.

Young reds looking to reclaim 2019 title

Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's side will be looking to secure the club's fifth FA Youth Cup tonight. The Reds' last success in the competition came in 2019 when Barry Lewtas' side came from behind to beat Manchester City on penalties.

Of those who featured in the 2019 final, both Rhys Williams and Neco Williams. have gone on to make their Premier League debuts.

Villa's golden age looking to end youth cup drought

Aston Villa find themselves in their first final since 2010, where they lost to Chelsea  3-2 over the old two-legged final format. The Villians' U18's have won the competition three times, with their most recent triumph coming in 2002.

Post-season viewing for Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool U18's boss Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, last week, invited Jurgen Klopp along to the showpiece youth event.

“He doesn’t need an invitation. He can come whenever he wants. Obviously, he’s got a big game before that himself so whatever the first team do or don’t do on Sunday it is really important he focuses on his job."

Klopp has always taken a keen interest in those involved in the youth setup. Stating the reason behind Liverpool's move to their new Kirkby training ground was to make the transition from the youth sides to the senior setup more plain sailing for all involved.

Familiar faces in the Aston Villa ranks

There'll be a few familiar faces in the Villa XI tonight, especially for those who follow senior football. Many of Villa's U18's squad were forced to step into the senior set up in January, to face Liverpool in the FA Cup third round, when the first team had a Covid-19 outbreak within the camp.

Of course, the face many will remember from that night  will be goal scorer Louie Barry...
