Goals and Highlights of QPR 3-3 Leicester City in Pre-Season 2021

It's curtains here at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. It ends 3-3 in a six goal thriller. What a second half of football that was. 

Austin, Barbet and Dickie with the goals for the hosts. 

Dewsbury-Hall, Daka and Iheanacho with the goals for the visitors. 

An enjoyable afternoon of football.

Another goal! Kelechi Iheanacho levels from the spot. Unbelievable pace from Daka to win the foul. Iheanacho makes no mistake from 12 yards. 

More fantastic feet from Willock, winning his side a corner. This Willock family knows how to produce top footballers. He has been a pain to deal with today. 

What a game. 3-2 to the home side. Rob Dickie is the quickest to react and the centre half puts the R's ahead. 

Ten minutes to go. Leicester have gone from looking hopeless, to looking fantastic in the space of five minutes. QPR deflated. 

Its 2-2! Just like that! What a finish from Patson Daka! This has been some game. First goal for the club aswell. Special moment. 

GOAL! 2-1. Great moment for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as he scores his first goal for the club. Comeback is on. 

Another double change for the hosts. 

20 minutes to go here at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. It's been a fabulous performance from the hosts up to this point. Good workout for Leicester, but once again disappointing.

Double change for QPR. Austin and De Wijs off, Dunne and Thomas on. 

 

Nine changes for the Foxes. Yes nine, and it's needed. Good chance for Brendan Rodgers to see some talent. 

We've got an exciting contest on our hands here... end to end stuff now. Remains 2-0 to the hosts.

I have no idea how, but it's 2-0 to the home side. Smart headed finish from Yoann Barbet. Looks as if Jakupovic was seeing the ball out. Not good for the visitors.

Close! QPR threatening again. Willock, there again heavily involved. His stunning effort smashes the post. 

Marc Albrighton also replaces Harvey Barnes just a day after signing a new three year deal with the club.

The away side get the game back underway. Lyndon Dykes is on for the hosts.

We've reached the half-time interval. It was an entertaining first 45 minutes for a pre-season friendly! Austins goal just before the break is the only difference. 

GOAL! Who else, but Charlie Austin! The Hoops' striker did so well to score. A first time strike into the roof of the net. Poor positioning from the Foxes defence. 

Experienced defending for young Fofana. Wins a clean tackle, puts his body in front of the attacker to win the foul. Sensational. 

Enjoyable spell for the visitors. The midfield three starting to click. Vardy played in behind again. Great goalkeeping from Seny Dieng to tackle the oncoming Vardy.

Leicester's first attack in a while. Another exceptional ball from Soumare to Vardy, however Vardy cannot find the target and drags his shot wide. 

Home side coming forward again, this time Chris Willock with the curling effort. Good stop from Jakupovic.            

QPR seeing a lot of the ball. Came close just then with captain Lee Wallace seeing his name in the headlines tomorrow morning. The defender volleyed from outside of the box, wide.

Great pressing play from the hosts. Eldin Jakupovic was lucky not to get the ball nicked from him before swiping it away, Wesley Fofana does so so well to get back and recycle the ball.

Bit of pressure to deal with at the back for the Foxes. QPR intercept Ricardo's ball well and cause a bit of chaos. Hoops can't get a shot on goal. 

Positive football from the visitors... Bouba Soumare finds Jamie Vardy with a smart threaded pass, however Vardy can't find a mint shirt in the box. 

We are underway here in West London... The home side get the ball rolling. 

Teams are out... kick-off is imminent.

Never forgetting the time this happened... Leicester won 1-0 courtesy of a classic Jamie Vardy strike on the day.

The game is set to kick off at 15:00 BST tomorrow afternoon.

Typically, there isn't many goals in these friendlies, however QPR have had a good taste for goal so far this summer, meanwhile Leicester have not. 

Nevertheless, the Foxes are due a goal, and a win at some point. It's been completely different circumstances for the sides up to now. 

I think Leicester will edge it, and take home the win ahead of their final pre-season match against Europa League winners Villarreal this upcoming Wednesday. 

Prediction: QPR 0-1 Leicester City

The last time the two met was back in 2015, on the final day of the season in Leicester's 'great escape' campaign. It was Esteban Cambiasso's final game in the East Midlands, and he ensured that he went out in style. The Argentine scored in a 5-1 hammering. 

Patson Daka signed for the Foxes this summer for just under £20,000,000. The Zambian certainly comes to England with a terrific track record. He won the golden boot and player of the season in the Bundesliga over in Austria for RB Salzburg.

Leicester fans haven't seen too much of him so far - but there's plenty more to come. His lightening speed and aggressive play style will surely get him scoring in the Premier League. If he and Jamie Vardy start together tomorrow, then the QPR defenders are certainly in for a long night.

The man, the myth, the Hoops legend. Charlie Austin. He's been here before, and he's now back after resigning at the start of the year. There's always a goal in him and QPR is where his heart lies.

He opened the scoring against United last weekend and on his day can be one of the toughest strikers to play against in English football. Him and Lydon Dykes will be a force to be reckoned with this season in the Championship.

Brendan Rodgers' side have only played two games so far this pre-season and are still without a win. With the circumstances of these friendlies, it's not necessarily important to get the win. However, it goes without saying that it gives the players hope and belief when they do win.

The Foxes lost to Burton Albion on penalties last Saturday, and were defeated by another League One side in Wycombe Wanderers on Wednesday night. A win tomorrow against an in-form QPR would do them good as they have a match at Wembley to play next weekend. 

This game tomorrow will be the Hoops' final pre-season game in preparation for their campaign opener against Millwall next weekend. 

Mark Warburton's men have won all three of their games so far this summer including a memorable 4-2 win against Manchester United last Saturday. It would give them great confidence to win all four to hold an 100% record as they welcome the Fa Cup winners.

The bout between Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City will be played at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, formerly known as Loftus Road.

 

The capacity is 18,439 and they're expecting a near full ground after recent positive results.
