As it happened - Brighton and Hove Albion steal all three points at Turf Moor

FULL TIME. That is all from me. 

It's a tough one to take for the hosts, but the visitors will leave ecstatic with their win. 

Job done for the Seagulls, but it isn't that simple. 

They missed a target man for much of the game, until Maupay got a touch on Moder's cross. 

They were lucky to still be in it, but they took advantage of that and that's all they had to do. 

Burnley need more players, that is a fact. 

They looked tired towards the end pushing for the equaliser, and didn't have the talent to get back into it.

FULL TIME. What a comeback from Brighton, and what a set of substitutions from Graham Potter. 

It was all looking comfortable for the hosts, and they were made to pay for not taking their chances when they were ahead. 

A draw was probably a fair result, but Brighton took advantage of the momentum they had and ripped the points away from the Clarets. 

A happy trip up to Lancashire for the Seagulls, not such a happy return to Turf Moor for Burnley's fans. 

FULL TIME. Alexis Mac Allister is the hero for The Seagulls this afternoon, coming off the bench to fire home the winner. 

James Tarkowski scored the opener inside three minutes for Burnley and the hosts were cruising.

Substitutions changed the game for Brighton, Moder coming on to swing a ball in for Maupay to flick home.

Then Gross found himself in space on the left and he put the ball on a plate for the unmarked Mac Allister to slam home. 

1-2 is how it finished!

FULL TIME. ALL OVER AT TURF MOOR!

90+3. It was nearly a third for Brighton!

Gross chips over Pope but Tarkowski is there to clear off the line. 

90+1. Four added minutes at Turf Moor, can the Clarets get themselves back into it?

87. Vydra whips the ball into the box looking for Barnes, Sanchez claims well after contact from the striker. 

Something has happened to Sanchez in the last 15 minutes!

He looks like a really safe pair of hands now. 

86. Before the sub, Maupay absolutely lashed the ball into the stand to stop the game from restarting.

Sounds like timewasting, which is a yellow card.

Referee Coote gives nothing. 

Lifeline for the man who scored the equaliser. 

85. Brownhill will probably move into the middle now, and Vydra will sit alongside Wood and Barnes up front.

85. Burnley make their final change, probably a change in formation too.

Matej Vydra is on, Jack Cork is off.

They were in control for an hour of this game and, just as I said the game was slowing down, Brighton picked up. 

Graham Potter deserves huge credit here for his substitutions, they have changed the game.

Dwight McNeil is replaced by Josh Brownhill.

79. Similar to the equaliser, it is Gross this time who gets space down the left to cross. 

Alexis Mac Allister marches onto it inside the box and slams home.

Nobody followed him in and it has sent the travelling Seagulls fans wild!

77. Visitors in the ascendency now, Burnley should have taken some of those chances in the first half.

Burnley controlling the game now, but a Brighton goal would change that for sure.

Pope kind of misreads the cross from March, he claims it out the sky and has a heart in mouth moment as it could have dropped over the line.

It didn't and the Clarets breathe a sigh of relief. 

62. Burnley come forward now, it's Lowton down the right.

He fizzes a beautiful ball across the area but it evades everyone. 

56. Brighton come forward through Trossard, but he floats his cross past the post. 

Wasteful again. 

53. The plan has to be get the ball in the air around Sanchez. 

He flaps again at another cross but Tarkowski is under it and can't get a touch. 

Poor goalkeeping performance today.

Waste of an opportunity to double the lead from Gudmundsson. 

50. Free kick for Burnley, Taylor is tugged back on the edge of the box.

VAR checks for a penalty, it is very close.

Adam Webster rises highest this time but the England Under 21 international is well placed to clear it away.

Enock Mwepu's debut has come to an end, he is replaced by Adam Lallana.

HALF TIME. Burnley have been much the better team here, they should be two goals ahead at the very least. 

Tarkowski's powerful header gave The Clarets the dream start after three minutes - despite a questionable push at the back post. 

Gudmundsson hit the post after 20 minutes, then Mee should have doubled the lead after Sanchez flapped at a corner but the captain hit the bar. 

Brighton have come close themselves, Maupay flashing a header past the post.

HALF TIME. Burnley lead at the break through James Tarkowski's third minute header. 

45+2. Burnley have been much the better team so far, the first half is petering out now.

44. Mee fouls Maupay this time and isn't booked.

In comparison to the 'foul' from Tarkowski in the early minutes, that was a clear bookable offence that just wasn't given.

Confusing.

40. Good chance here for Brighton this time. 

McNeil has to clear a header from the back post after a corner, didn't quite see who had the effort. 

Maupay heads wide just seconds later.

Best chance of the game for the visitors so far. 

36. On second viewing, Tarkowski has to keep his volley down there, instead he's put it into the away fans. 

A striker would almost certainly do better there...

36. Burnley have another corner themselves, and HAVE HIT THE BAR!

34. No real chances to shout home about for Brighton so far.

They are getting forward though, they have a corner now. 

30. Half an hour played, and Burnley go close again.

Wood is found by Westwood over the top, Rodriguez is set up by his strike partner and powers a shot towards goal.

Sanchez saves well, but Albion are struggling here. 

26. Maupay gets his name taken by the referee, for a late tackle on Tarkowski.

Clarets, Seagulls fans... only 30 minutes or so until you open your Premier League accounts for the season.

My prediction for today is a 1-1 draw.

Both teams are evenly matched. A lack of transfer activity at Turf Moor, a lack of quality striker at The AMEX, neither team are any better than last year which saw two draws. 

1-1 is the prediction.

The first Premier League game of the day was a thoroughly entertaining one, and that's an understatement. 

Manchester United have blown Leeds United away at Old Trafford, it has finished 5-1 to The Reds.

Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick with Mason Greenwood and Fred also finding the net.

Luke Ayling's thunderbolt is only a consolation in the end. 

Enock Mwepu makes his first Premier League start for Brighton.

Steven Alzate gets a start in the opening game, as does Shane Duffy in defence. 

Adam Lallana and Alexis Mac Allister are on the bench

The first Burnley team of the season sees Jay Rodriguez chosen to lead the line with Chris Wood.

Burnley vs Brighton and Hove Albion is not live on TV as it is a 3pm kick-off.

I am here, though, you can watch along with me!

Since 2017, when Brighton were promoted to the top-flight, they have faced each other eight times in the League with a whole host of draws.

Five in fact - three of which were 0-0.

Burnley hold two wins in the Premier League over their opponents, with Brighton claiming one win.

Both games last season finished a stalemate, including the 1-1 draw at Turf Moor in February – Lewis Dunk and Johann Berg Gudmundsson getting the goals.

Danny Welbeck and Tariq Lamptey head a five-strong list of players missing from the Seagulls trip up north this weekend.

Dan Burn, Moises Caicedo and Kjell Scherpen are also not available, but new signing Enock Mwepu could make his debut for Albion.

A poor transfer window is becoming an all too familiar tale for Burnley fans to have to take, which has left the Lancashire side very thin on the ground ahead of the first game of the season.

Dale Stephens and Kevin Long are missing, but Nick Pope seems to have recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of the European Championships.

New signings Nathan Collins and Wayne Hennessey should take their place on the bench.

Both Burnley and Brighton will be looking for a great start to the season, as many predict a rough ride is ahead for The Clarets and Seagulls.

Even before a ball is kicked, this game is massive for their respective campaigns.

It is vital to get off to a good start but this is also a game both teams will feel like they should win.

However, it is obviously too early to call it a relegation six pointer…
