Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on fighting for the three points

"When you have the disappointment of losing two points last week, you want a game straight away. The start of the season has been a little bit different. Last year we had loads of games, this time a week in between.

We’re training well, fit and ready. We’re still missing Scott who had surgery this week. Marcus, Alex, Dean Henderson, they’re not ready.

But apart from that we have a fit squad ready to fight for points."

Bruno Lage previews United visit

They (Manchester United) are a strong team, but they also know that they are playing against a strong team who can play in a different way.

“They have top players. What they did last year was amazing. I have followed the work of the new manager (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) since he started because I started in the same period in Benfica.

“Top players, top manager - I think it’s going to be a good match for us because we are in a good way.”

Manchester United: Team News

Manchester United will be without midfielder Scott McTominay after the Scotsman underwent a groin surgery.

Marcus Rashford, Alex Telles and Dean Henderson will also not feature due to injuries.

However, new signings Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane could both get their first starts in a United shirt.

Sancho has made two appearances from the bench for The Red Devils so far, and a place in the starting XI is looking increasingly likely, although Solskjaer hasn't confirmed anything yet.

As for Varane, the United boss is allowing the defender to get a feel for English football – but the Frenchman is due an appearance anytime soon.

Wolves: Team News

On the injury front, Wolves' significant absentee will be Pedro Neto.

After breaking his kneecap in a game against Fulham back in April, the Portuguese has been on the sidelines ever since – with an expected comeback in October.

However, the 21-year-old's recovery has hit a setback, yet Wolves boss Bruno Lage is still expecting the winger to return before the turn of the new year.

In positive news for the home side, Raul Jimenez is yet again set to start for the Wanderers, as he begins to play regular first-team football after fracturing his skull last November.

Can United's impressive away form continue?

After equalling the Premier League record for most away games without defeat (27) last time out against Southampton, Manchester United can go one step further at Molineux by making it 28 games undefeated on the road.

However, The Red Devils will be looking to do more than merely avoid defeat.

Dropping points against Wolves would only further enhance the anxiety surrounding losing pace at the top of the table.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have struggled in the early stages of previous seasons, and it has always come back to haunt them in the latter stages.

Wolves looking to pick up their first points of the season

It has been a difficult start to the 2021/22 Premier League campaign for Wolves.

After losing by a goal to nil against both Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves boss Bruno Lage is seeking his first points since taking over.

It won't be easy for the home side, however, with United avoiding defeat in their last 27 league games on the road.

The Wanderer's last home victory against Sunday's visitors came in April 2019 as they ran out 2-1 winners.
