FULL TIME.Everton 3-1 Burnley

FULL TIME. That is all from me, thank you for joining me and keeping with me.

You can always re-read tonight's game by scrolling back through here.

That blistering spell from Everton was full of highlights, but Andros Townsend's strike was one that is worthy of winning any game.

Abdoulaye Doucoure was the standout performer as Everton flew away from their opponents.

It is another lead Burnley have let slip, after Mee's headed opener and a pretty dominant first half.

Everton move to 10 points and join Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea in the top four.

Burnley stay 18th with just one point from their opening games, one of five teams still in search of that first win.

The Toffees travel to Aston Villa on Saturday tea-time, while Burnley are back at Turf Moor to face Arsenal at 3pm on the same day.

An entertaining game tonight, I'm glad you were here with me to experience it.

I am sure I will see you again soon, stay safe!

Michael Keane, Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray turned the game on it's head in a blistering six minute spell in the second half.

Ben Mee had given the visitors the lead after a good first half but the hosts were too good in the end.

Everton 3-1 Burnley

72. I didn't have enough time to tell you how wonderful the second goal was.

It was a beautiful goal.

He wins the ball and a throw in is given but Rafa Benitez is a bit annoyed a foul isn't given for that one either.

21:0610 days ago

Everton 0-0 Burnley

50. Tarkowski absolutely flies through Richarlison, wins the ball and clears the man.

Maybe a bit of emotion in that tackle in front of the visiting fans, it should be said.

HALF TIME. The teams are back out and we are ready to go again.

Hopefully some goals in the second half.

20:4810 days ago

HALF TIME. Everton 0-0 Burnley

HALF TIME. There is the half time whistle.

Not much to report on really, Doucoure stung the wrist of Pope who pushed it away while Wood was a bit tentative in heading a cross towards goal under pressure from Pickford.

But that was really all in terms of goal mouth action, but it hasn't been a completely dull game so the second half is one to look forward to.

See you in 15.

Everton 0-0 Burnley

36. Mee pulls Richarlison back (probably in a bit of revenge) but Townsend plays on.

It's unfortunate because it comes to nothing and Burnley regain possession.

20:3410 days ago

Everton 0-0 Burnley

33. Mee goes to ground and wins the ball against Richarlison who seems to fall on the defender.

Now the striker and Tarkowski are getting into it a little bit but it is nothing more than a bit of pushing.

Referee Martin Atkinson has a word, VAR checks it but there is nothing of note.

Burnley get the ball back as the game restarts.

29. Here come the home crowd, Burnley have done well to silence them so far.

Taylor just tries to take the energy out of the game by taking his time with a throw in, much to the Goodison crowd's disgust.

20:2810 days ago

Everton 0-0 Burnley

26. The pace is picking up now.

Allan's little dink through is easy for Pope to catch, and he sets Taylor away.

McNeil then drives a shot towards goal and Pickford saves.

Wood is then sent behind by Lowton, he flicks it for Barnes who sets up Brownhill who drives it into Pickford.

Up the other end, Doucoure drives into the box and fires a shot at goal but Pope gets across well to save it with his wrist.

Free-kick for The Clarets, Doucoure lucky to escape further punishment for a late foul on Westwood.

20:2010 days ago

Everton 0-0 Burnley

Another good chance, that.

The former Leicester man can't bring it down.

McNeil whips in a beautiful ball looking for Wood but the striker can't connect properly under pressure from Pickford.

Let off for the hosts.

20:0210 days ago

Everton 0-0 Burnley

1. Brownhill plays a weak pass and Richarlison is on to it.

The Burnley central midfield fouls him, seems to get the ball but it was from behind so a free-kick is rightfully given.

Manages to escape a booking though.

19:1610 days ago

My prediction

It should be a good game tonight, both teams will be going for three points, Everton looking to join the top three on 10 points.

Burnley, chasing their first win of the season, will be going all out to pick up three points here as they did last season.

Dwight McNeil has looked quality all season and will be looking to create again tonight, and I think he will.

Missing Calvert-Lewin will be tough for the hosts to deal with but if Richarlison can get going, he can do some real damage.

Personally, I can't see anyone outsmarting the other tonight with goal-mouth action to be at a premium.

I am going for 1-1.

Burnley unchanged

Sean Dyche names an unchanged side from the team that drew with Leeds United before the break.

New signing Maxwel Cornet is on the bench but Nathan Collins is not fit to even make the bench.

19:0310 days ago

No Calvert-Lewin for Toffees

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not overcome the injury that kept him out of the England games over the last couple of weeks.

It is a back five for Everton with Yerry Mina coming in at the back, replacing Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey is back in the starting lineup.

Last time out

Everton 1-2 Burnley - March, 13 2021

A Dwight McNeil worldie gave Burnley all three points at Goodison Park the last time the two teams met.

Chris Wood opened the scoring after 13 minutes gave the visitors the lead with a curling effort inside the area.

And McNeil's bending effort left Jordan Pickford with no chance from 25 yards out to double Burnley's lead.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin halved the deficit before half time but Everton couldn't find an equaliser after the break as The Clarets took the points back to Lancashire.

20:2811 days ago

Predicted Lineups

Pickford; Coleman, Godfrey, Keane, Digne; Townsend, Doucoure, Allan, Gray; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin

Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Gudmundsson, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil; Wood, Vydra.

Team News - Burnley

New signing Maxwel Cornet could be made to wait for his full debut after suffering from a dead leg in the last week.

He should be on the bench for his new side, but fellow new arrival Connor Roberts is still out after his summer injury.

Kevin Long and Dale Stephens are getting closer but are still on the sidelines, and Nathan Collins might be absent after his injury with the Republic of Ireland last week.

20:1511 days ago

Team News - Everton

The big news is that Dominic Calvert-Lewin should be fully available for the hosts after withdrawing from the recent England squad through injury.

Fabian Delph and James Rodriguez are definitely out but Yerry Mina, Seamus Coleman and Ben Godfrey are all in with a shout of featuring.

Toffees look to build, Burnley need to start

Everton have started this season in fine form, starting the season unbeaten with two wins and a draw.

Scoring seven times in those opening three games shows Rafa Benitez has got The Toffees playing some good football and they look defensively good too.

Burnley, however, are still looking for their first three points of the season after two defeats before the draw with Leeds United at Turf Moor before the international break.

New arrivals before the end of the Transfer Window have added depth to a threadbare squad and, as performances have been okay at the very least, things are looking up for The Clarets.
