Valerien Ismael pre-match comments

Here's what West Brom manager Valerien Ismael said in his pre-match press conference.

On club-record unbeaten start: "Yes I am proud. It shows the hard work all the staff have put in with the players from day one.

"We have had to implement a new way to play and it’s the result of hard work. It’s not enough. We need to continue to carry on.

"We need to win with consistency if we are to stay where we are. We need to perform well. We cannot afford to be average otherwise someone will come and take our spot.

"It’s all about maintaining our performance level, our mentality, and our desire to continue to move forward."

On facing Stoke: "It’s another tough away game for us. It’s another way to play from the Cardiff game. We need to adapt again.

"I think it will be a team that is possession-based, has very good players and a lot of experience in the side. But it will be the same it will be all about us.

"We need to show our intensity, we need to press and we need to play and combine well. I think it will be the game where we see the three pillars from our way to play. I think in that game we will need to be complete."

Michael O'Neill pre-match comments

Stoke boss Michael O'Neill spoke to the club's media ahead on Thursday. Here's what he said.

“It’ll be a tough game, we’re going into the game against a very strong team which has come down, kept their squad together and added one or two players to that as well," said O'Neill.

“These are the games where you’re always going to measure yourself. We were disappointed with Fulham but we moved on quickly because at the end of the day it’s only three points, it’s the same three points you get against Blackpool or whatever team you’re playing on that day.

“We have to be ready to play in this game, it’s our third game in six days which is demanding physically.

“The most important thing is we get the level of performance that we’ve consistently got this season.”
