Steven Gerrard's side haven't got off to the best of starts, and it may get even worse as they travel to North London to face league leaders Arsenal

There was a blip in Arsenal's perfect form though when Aleksandr Mitrovic's goal put the Cottagers one up at the Emirates Stadium. But it was goals from captain Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes that secured all three points for the Gunners to keep their place at the top.

However, Aston Villa fell to defeat against a West Ham side that had scored zero goals in three games after conceding to Pablo Fornals with 16 minutes left. Their weak midfield and lack of composure in attack meant that while they were more attacking than the Irons, they couldn't convert to get the result they felt they deserved.

A win for the Villians would propel them up towards the top-half of the table, with many teams not having the best of starts to their individual Premier League campaigns. If Arsenal are to continue their 100% winning streak, that would leave them at the top of the table.

Team News:

  • Tyrone Mings is a doubt for Villa as well as his fellow centre-back Diego Carlos who is still out after sustaining a long-term injury to his achilles tendon this month.
  • Anwar El-Ghazi will also not feature as he is set to depart the club for PSV Eindhoven imminently.

Likely Lineups:

Arsenal: Ramsdale, Tierney, Gabriel, Saliba, White, Lokonga, Xhaka, Saka, Ødegaard, Martinelli, Jesus

Aston Villa: Martinez, Digne, Konsa, Chambers, Cash, Ramsey, Kamara, Luiz, Buendia, Watkins, Bailey

Key Players:

Arsenal- Martin Ødegaard

The Norwegian and new club captain has been a real bright star this season with three goals in four matches played. His ambition and commitment can be seen every minute he plays, whether it's starting well at Bournemouth or starting a comeback against Fulham last week.

Aston Villa- Ollie Watkins

With one goal and two assists in four matches, Watkins remains the talisman for the Villains. He'll need to provide the threat tonight as Saliba and Gabriel will be onto him, having only conceded three goals as a defensive pairing in the Premier League season.
