The Saturday lunchtime kick-off sees the Foxes host the Eagles as basement-dwellers Leicester City welcome Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace to the King Power.

Brendan Rodgers still remains in the hot-seat at Leicester but it must be the hottest seat to sit on in the entirety of the Premier League by now with the Northern Irishman under severe pressure.

A fortnight ago, there was a momentary bit of relief as Leicester dispatched of East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest 4-0 but, for an encore, they traveled to the South coast and fell 2-1 to Bournemouth last weekend. This sees them rock bottom with just four points from their opening  nine fixtures.

The visitors have not had a spectacular start to proceedings this season either as they sit in 15th, just five points ahead of their hosts.

Palace will be coming into this fixture with some confidence, however, as they registered just their second win of the young season last weekend against Leeds United at Selhurst Park.

The fixture list was extremely unkind to The Eagles to start the season with games against Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle and Chelsea already in the books but this game begins a run for Vieira's men that they will be hoping for a good return of points from to drag them away from the early throes of a relegation battle.

Team news

Leicester City

There are two potential injury doubts for Rodgers since the defeat at the Vitality Stadium.

One is that of Thomas Castagne as the Belgian full-back sustained an eye-socket injury in that game which may mean a return to the starting 11 for England U21 international Luke Thomas.

The other is midfielder Nampalys Mendy who sustained a knee injury but there is hope that the midfielder will be fit enough to start.

Zambian striker Patson Daka has three goals in his last four games and will be hoping to keep his place in attack ahead of Jamie Vardy.

Rodgers has instilled faith in Danny Ward as his number one since the departure of Kasper Schmeichel, but the Welsh stopper is under pressure and there have been calls for former Preston North End man Daniel Iversen to get a run of games between the sticks.

Crystal Palace

Vieira has no new injury concerns coming into this game and may well name the same starting 11 as against Leeds last week.

That means that Jeffrey Schlupp may start at the place he won a Premier League title ahead of England international Tyrick Mitchell.

Palace have options in attack with Jean-Philippe Mateta pushing for a start, but he will have to displace his countryman Odsonne Edouard who was on the score sheet last week.

That was two in two for the former Celtic forward who has a more-than-able support cast including Jordan Ayew, Wilfried Zaha and Eberechi Eze.

They will be looking to cause the fragile Leicester defence problems.

Likely lineups

Leicester City

Ward, Justin, Evans, Faes, Thomas, Soumare, Tielemans, Dewsbury-Hall, Barnes, Maddison, Daka.

Crystal Palace

Guaita, Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Schlupp, Olise, Doucoure, Eze, Zaha, Ayew, Edouard.

Key players

James Maddison

The England international attacking midfielder has not had a great audition for a place in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad as his form has mirrored that of his team so far this season. However, it says a lot about Maddison that when he plays well so do Leicester.

He showed a glimpse that he was getting back to his best in the victory over Forest a fortnight ago and if he can sustain that form he may be able to drag his side out of the sticky situation that they have found themselves in.

He has been playing in more of a wide role recently as he and Harvey Barnes support the main striker but, arguably, his best position is in the number 10 role, as his shirt number suggests.

Rodgers' job and The Foxes season could rely on him getting back to his best.

Wilfried Zaha

Similarly to Maddison,  Wilfred Zaha is very much the catalyst for his team and, while the Ivory Coast international will not be in Qatar next month, he has the potential to make Palace tick.

Zaha has been a fantastic servant to the South Londoners and his skill on the ball is intoxicating to watch.

He will be hoping to lead his side against a Leicester defence that has been shipping goals at an alarming rate.

He will be looking to add to his team-leading four goals, although all of those goals came in the opening month of the season and he has not netted since August 30th against London rivals Brentford.

However, his impact on the team is more than just goals and he can never be counted out when he is on the pitch.
