Steve Davis' Wolves side play host to Brighton this weekend, with three points potentially moving the hosts out of the relegation zone.

Wolves showed fight to earn a point at Brentford last week, although did finish the game with 10 men after Diego Costa's late sending off.

Roberto De Zerbi's side head to Molineux on the back of an emphatic 4-1 win over high flying Chelsea, as they look to edge closer to the European spots.

The victory was De Zerbi's first in England and Brighton's first since a 5-2 win over Leicester on September 4th.

The sides last met in April of this year, when then-manager Graham Potter's Brighton ran riot in a 3-0 victory in the West Midlands, all but ending Wolves' European aspirations.

Wolves

Wolves' senior striker Diego Costa will not be available until after the World Cup. The Spaniard was sent off in injury time at Brentford for a headbutt on defender Ben Mee

Both Goncalo Guedes and Hwang Hee-Chan could be in line to replace Costa. Guedes is searching for his first Wolves goal while the South Korean has not scored since February.

Raul Jimenez returned to Wolverhampton this week after spending time recovering in Mexico. The striker is expected to focus on preparations for his nation's World Cup campaign.

Mathues Nunes was substituted in the first half at Brentford last week with a suspected shoulder issue. Joao Moutinho may return to the starting 11 to replace his compatriot.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Danny Welbeck missed last week's match through illness, although is expected to be involved on Saturday. Welbeck has recently been touted as a potential understudy to Harry Kane at this month's World Cup.

Captain Lewis Dunk is also in the running for a spot in Gareth Southgate's squad. The Englishman is struggling with a slight knee issue although is still expected to feature at Molineux.

Joel Veltman is likely to return to action in this weekend's game. The Dutch defender missed the victory over Chelsea with a calf issue.

Polish midfielder Jakub Moder remains sidelined as he recovers from an ACL injury.

  • Likely Line-ups

Wolves

Sa; Semedo, Collins, Kilman, Bueno; Neves, B. Traore, Moutinho; Podence, Guedes, A. Traore (4-3-3)

Brighton & Hove Albion

Sanchez; Gross, Webster, Dunk, Estupinan; Mac Allister, Caicedo; March, Lallana, Trossard; Welbeck (4-2-3-1)

  • Key Players

Ruben Neves

Without Ruben Neves, Wolves would be in a much worse position than they currently are. Wolves' captain is their top scorer this season with three goals, but is most influential when dictating his side's play.

Neves is best when breaking up opposition attacks, having the ability to win the ball and start attacks of his own.

These attributes will be key when facing De Zerbi's fluid Brighton side who look to transition at pace.

Neves' third goal of the season earned Wolves a point at the Gtech Community Stadium last week, equalising just seconds after the hosts had broken the deadlock. The goal could be a pivotal moment in Wolves' season if they are to avoid relegation.

Leandro Trossard

Leandro Trossard is enjoying his best Premier League season to date, looking at home in De Zerbi's system. The Belgian international has scored seven league goals so far, needing one more to match his seasonal best tally.

Trossard has scored five of his goals in the six games De Zerbi has taken charge of, looking to become Albion's main man in attack.

With the return of Welbeck expected at Molineux, it is unclear whether Trossard will keep the central role he took up against Chelsea, or whether he will be moved into a wider area.

The 27-year-old has 21 Belgium caps to his name and will be one of his country's key players in Qatar later this month.
