Both Charlie Austin and Leroy Fer are likely to leave Sky Bet Championship club Queens Park Rangers in this summer’s transfer window, according to the London club's boss.

Both have been heavily linked with a move away from Loftus Road after QPR’s relegation from the top flight of English football last season and rumours were fuelled further when both players sat out of their pre-season friendly with Atlanta on Sunday.

Ramsey resigned to losing his stars

Manager Chris Ramsey has admitted that an exit seems imminent saying clubs have been “very interested” with both the Dutchman and Englishman saying that if the right offer comes in they will “probably go”.

However the 53-year-old also said he will attempt to hold onto the striker and midfielder as long as possible, with five Championship matches and a League Cup tie to come before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.

Ramsey said “selfishly” that he hopes that nobody come in for the pair and is very much still part of his present plans saying that if they are fit they will feature.

Both were key figures for QPR last season

Austin who signed for the London side on a three-year deal from Burnley back in 2013 lit up the Premier League last season with 18 league goals which was enough to earn him a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad.

Fer only joined from newly promoted Norwich City last season, but the man who cost the R’s £8m made a big impact with six goals to his name.

Both have been heavily linked with a move up north with Fer reportedly close to becoming Dick Advocaat’s fifth signing at Sunderland while Austin has been linked with their bitter rivals Newcastle United with the St James’ Park outfit heavily linked for the majority of the summer.

QPR themselves haven’t quite finished in the transfer market, but new recruits will depend on the both Austin and Fer leaving through the exit door.
