Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has once again reiterated his stance that star striker Benik Afobe is not for sale at any price, amidst continued interest from recently-promoted Norwich City.

The Canaries have seen three bids rejected so far and are thought to be considering a fourth after breaking the £10million mark with their most recent enquiry, but Jackett says that Norwich boss Alex Neil is wasting his time.

Speaking to the Shropshire Star, Jackett reiterated that "no figure has been discussed with the chairman" because the club is "not selling at this particular time".

Afobe will play this weekend despite interest

Wolves welcome Charlton Athletic to Molineux in the Championship on Saturday afternoon, and Jackett claims that with the matter closed in his mind, he will not think twice about naming Afobe in the starting eleven.

"I've got no hesitation at all to play Benik," he stated. "We are planning to play him."

While the popular manager admitted that Afobe was aware of the speculation surrounding his future, he made clear that he had not been distracted by perceived uncertainty and had not asked for a transfer despite Premier League interest.

Wolves look to long-term profit

After six loan spells away from boyhood club Arsenal over the course of five years, Afobe joined Wolves permanently for £2million during the 2015 January transfer window and went on to score 13 goals in the second half of the season alone.

The 22-year-old is vital to Wolves' push for automatic promotion to the top flight this season, and the club are willing to pass up on the prospect of an immediate profit for the prospect of the riches of the Premier League, with the lucrative new television deal coming into effect next season.

Despite Jackett's firm stance over Afobe, Wolves fans will surely breathe a sigh of relief when the transfer window closes next week.
