Lianne Sanderson has left Arsenal Ladies, the club have confirmed.
Sanderson re-joined Arsenal back in November 2014 ahead of the 2015 FA WSL season, signing for them from American side Boston Breakers.
She played all six of the side's league games prior to the mid-season break, helping to propel the team into second in the table, but failed to find the back of the net and manager Pedro Martinez Losa has now made the decision to let her leave the club.
Journey-woman career
The striker initially started her career with the Gunners as a nine-year-old, spending five years with the first team between 2003 and 2008 before a move to Chelsea. She won five league titles and four FA Cup winners' medals with her childhood club in this time.
Sanderson then spent two years with the Blues ahead of a four year spell abroad, the 27-year-old playing in America, Spain and Cyprus with five different clubs following her departure from England in 2010.
Up and down years with England
The same year that she left the country, Sanderson also announced that she did not want to play for England anymore either, not whilst Hope Powell was in charge, stating that the manager and the England hierarchy had treated her unfairly.
However, after two years away from her national team set-up, Mark Sampson recalled the striker to the team when he was appointed as the Lionesses' manager in 2013, and she scored two goals in qualifying for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup before then being selected in Sampson's squad of 23 for this summer.
Sanderson made two appearances in Canada and won the penalty in England's third-place play-off against Germany that helped them win bronze at the tournament.
The forward has 46 caps for her country, since earning her first back in 2006 as an 18-year-old, and has scored 15 goals.
