Promising Arsenal midfielder Jon Toral has joined Granada on a season-long loan and aims to build on his growing reputation.

Toral joins the La Liga outfit on loan off the back of two impressive loan spells with Sky Bet Championship clubs Brentford and Birmingham City.

After an exciting season with Brentford with six goals to his name, he joined Birmingham after the 2015/16 season. The midfielder scored eight goals in 38 appearances for the Midlands club and was awarded Players’ Player of the Year, Supporters’ Player of the Year and Goal of the Season for his efforts last season.

Upon arriving at the club, Toral told the website how thrilled he was to be joining the club on loan: “I’ve come here to learn from my teammates & coaching staff, to improve myself as a player & help the team any way I can.

“I’ve played as an inside forward, attacking midfielder, even as a winger. I’ll adapt to whatever the manager wants from me.”

The club statement also praised the Spaniard’s talents and has high hopes for his role within Granada’s midfield. Granada are managed by Paco Jemez and narrowly missed relegation last season after finishing a single point ahead of 18th placed Rayo Vallecano.

Make Or Break?

Toral currently has only one year remaining on his current Arsenal contract, meaning this coming season could be make or break for his Arsenal future.

Toral joined Arsenal along with Hector Bellerin from Barcelona’s youth academy in the summer of 2011. His Spanish team mate has often publically thanked him and Toral’s family for helping him settle in England and learning English.

While Bellerin has cemented his position in Arsenal's first team, Jon Toral has yet to make an appearance for the senior side and with play time looking unlikely in the immediate future, Toral has ventured out for loan moves.
