Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is determined to gain three points against Watford this weekend to help kick start Arsenal’s season.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 0-0 draw to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, the England international told the official Arsenal website: “We’ve got a nice run of games now and we’ve got to think about all of the positives from today. Watford is going to be another tough game because every game is this season, so it’s going to be very difficult.

"Each team gets better each year. We want to have a similar sort of performance to when we last played Watford away. It doesn’t matter how we play, as long as we get the three points."

The North London side won 3-0 last season at Vicarage Road courtesy of goals from Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and Oliver Giroud.

Arsenal have made a stuttering start to the season after an opening day 4-3 defeat to Liverpool before a stalemate against Leicester. Despite their draw against the Premier League Champions, Walcott believes it was a good point away from home and his team mates should produce a similar display against Watford to win at Vicarage Road.

"I think if you look at the balance of the game, it started to open out towards the last 10 minutes. When we look back at this game we will see it as a fair result.”

"We’ve come to the champions and we know it’s not going to be easy. Not many people beat them. Only two teams, us being one of them, beat them last year.”

Watford welcome Arsenal to the Hornets nest

Watford go into the fixture on the same number of points as Arsenal, with a solitary point gained against Southampton. Walter Mazzari’s men conceded a one goal lead against Chelsea, to lose 2-1 last weekend.
