The Premier League's newboys have completed their first piece of transfer business in the English top flight, securing the services of Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc on a 12-month deal, with an option of a further year, following his release from the St. Mary's club.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper, who played 39 matches during this season's initial loan spell with the Championship winners, is Bournemouth's first signing since they were promoted to the Premier League, having had three years at So'ton. He told the club website the following, last month: "As soon as I came here, I saw a bunch of lads who were really working hard and they had their minds on football. In my live, I've never seen a group who have worked so hard and been as professional as possible. It's probably the first season I've seen what it is to be a professional football from the way they are on the training ground to everything else.

The Cherries have also been linked with Blackburn striker Josh King and Everton youngster Luke Garbutt, as they aim to stake their claim in the league next campaign, for a team not to be viewed as pushovers and establish themselves without the danger of relegation back to the second tier.
