Bournemouth have completed their seventh signing of the summer transfer window, bringing in Filippo Costa on a season-long loan deal from Serie A side Chievo Verona.

The talented youngster, who has been capped by his native Italy's u-20 side, will initially join the club's development squad with a view to joining the first-team squad at the Vitality Stadium

Richard Hughes, a member of Bournemouth's recruitment, told the Cherries' website that Costa is a defender with a "very good quality", that he has a "good engine" and that he will "fit the mould" - when talking about how Bournemouth are known for developing attacking full-backs.

The full-back is highly-rated in Italy, and has appeared at every level of international youth football to date too. Last season, he was on-loan at Pisa in Italy's Serie C division, where he netted five goals. Hughes then went onto say that he was "sure he would fufil his potential" whilst on the South Coast.

Howe targets more

Eddie Howe has already had a busy summer bringing in no less than six players.

Chelsea's creative midfielder Christian Atsu has joined on a loan deal, Southampton 'keeper Artur Boruc on a free transfer, Blackburn winger Joshua King for an undisclosed fee, Sylvain Distin (Everton) and Adam Federici (Reading) both on free transfers, as well as young talented defender Tyrone Mings for £8million pounds from Ipswich Town

When speaking to the Bournemouth Echo, Howe had this to say: "If we do recruit more players, they have to be sensible options" as well as fitting the sort of players that his side needs to flourish in their maiden Premier League campaign. He continued, to say that although he was "happy" with what he has, he was "never satisfied", suggesting he was "always looking for something" to help improve his side ahead of the new season.
