England centre back, Steven Caulker, is undergoing a medical at Cardiff City, ahead of his move to the newly promoted club.

The exact fee is not yet known, however it is believed to be higher than the club record fee of £8.5 million that spent on striker, Andreas Cornelius, earlier in the transfer market. The deal could be completed tonight, as contract terms have been agreed between player and club already.

Caulker has attracted interest from Liverpool this summer also, but with Brenden Rodgers reportedly turning his attentions to  Kyriakos Papadopoulos, Malky Mackay has pulled ahead and is now set to finalise the deal for the 21 year old.

Yesterday, Cardiff City manager, Malky Mackay stated: "We have a good, strong squad here already and we need a few more for the new season." Along with Caulker, Cardiff City are looking to finalise a deal for Toulouse star, Etienne Capoue.

21 year old centre back, Caulker, played 28 games in all competitions last season for Tottenham Hotspur and won his first cap for England in November.
