Having already seen off Man City and sharing the spoils with Everton at the Cardiff City stadium, the home side have shown they are no pushover. Although they have only won the one game this season, it was against Premier league giants Man City in a thrilling 3-2 victory.

On the other hand Spurs come into this fixture on the back of two convincing victories against Norwich City and Tromso respectively.

Having played Tromso midweek, the North London club could be suffering from some Europa League tiredness which Cardiff will be looking to capitalise on.

However a win for the visitors could propel them to the top of the league, having responded very well to the north London derby defeat beating The Canaries last week with a comfortable 2-0 win.

The home side have drawn their last two league games and will need to do well to break down Tottenham who have only conceded the one goal this season.

Andre Villas-Boas will be looking for his outfit to continue their remarkable form against Premier League newbie’s, having already beaten Crystal Palace on the opening day it adds to their record of winning all six of their matches against newly promoted sides last season.

Steven Caulker look set to face his previous club as does Frazer Campbell who endured a tough loan spell at the North London club back in the 2008/2009 season.

Cardiff City

The home side will still be without striker Andreas Cornelius who is still out with an ankle injury he sustained in the sides Capital One Cup victory over Accrington Stanley.

They do look set to welcome David Marshall back to the starting eleven; the Scotland goalkeeper has recovered from a hip injury that ruled him out of the Hull City match last weekend.

Tottenham

The Europa league game against Tromso saw three Spurs players limp of with injuries, Danny Rose (ankle), Moussa Dembele (ankle) and Younes Kaboul (adductor).

Villas-Boas is confident that Dembele and Kaboul will be fit enough to travel however Danny Rose is a major doubt and looks set to miss the fixture.

Etienne Capoue and Aaron Lennon are both still out with ankle and foot injuries respectively and Belgium winger Nacer Chadli is still doubtful (adductor).

But Romanian centre back Vlad Chiriches could make his debut haveing finally been granted a work permit.
