Since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, replacing the sacked Malky Mackay, fans have seen a squad turnover.

Rudy Gestede has moved to Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee, while Filip Kiss, Nicky Maynard and John Brayford have all temporarily left the club on loan for the remainder of the season.

However, fans have also been treated to a number of new signings, Ole’s former players Mangus Wolff Eikrem, Mats Moller Daehli and Jo Inge Berget all joining the Welsh side. Transfer activity is yet to halt though, and with two former Manchester United players having already signed, it is looking likely two more are set to join.

21-year-old Wilfried Zaha’s proposed move to the Bluebirds is almost complete, with ongoing negotiations having led to a medical which was reportedly successful. Cardiff wanted the move to be originally completed in time for the FA Cup tie against Bolton Wanderers, although Ole soon confirmed reports of a medical had been false.

Wilfried joined Manchester United in January 2013 for a fee of £15 million, but after staying at Selhurst Park for the remainder of the season, has failed to make an impact for the Red Devils this season, leading to a loan move being wanted by the winger.

Meanwhile, fellow Manchester United player Fabio Da Silva looks likely to join Solskjaer in a permanent move. After moving with twin brother Rafael, who has become a regular in the starting line-up, Fabio has failed to break into a side including vice-captain Patrice Evra. The Brazilian has only appeared once in the Premier League this season, while seeing red against Swansea in the FA Cup.

The out-of-favour left-back was expected to be confirmed as a player late Sunday (26th January), with all three players supposedly having medicals the same day, but complications have prevented Fabio moving, with a fee currently unknown. His contract was due to expire at Old Trafford at the end of the season, resulting in a transfer fee of £5 million being suggested on social networking sites.

Finally, Kenwyne Jones also looks to become a Cardiff player soon. With Peter Odemwingie likely to go to Stoke City within the switch, the 29-year-old striker was recently dropped for the Potters, missing the club’s 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace after refusing to play against Liverpool six days previous.

Jones first joined Stoke City in 2005, initially on loan when playing for Southampton, and five years later made an £8 million move from Sunderland, making the Trinidad and Tobago international the club’s record signing. After scoring 26 goals in 115 games, he has since looked elsewhere for game time, ensuring his move to Cardiff is almost certain.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer commented on the move after the FA Cup win at Bolton, saying "There is potentially a deal to be done with Peter going to Stoke and Kenwyne coming to Cardiff. We cannot confirm anything until the medicals are done, but we are quite a long way down the road.I can't say anything about other players, but I can talk about Odemwingie and Jones because Stoke have issued a statement."

Two more players are also suggested to sign for Cardiff City before the window closure.
