Guus Hiddink will be hoping that his Chelsea side are strong enough to avenge their defeat earlier in the season to Bournemouth - Eden Hazard also returns to the squad.

It's been a strange few months for the blues, with nothing to play for and mid-table mediocrity, Hiddink will have to use all his managerial experience to motivate his players.

Background

There'll be a strange mood around the game this weekend down in Bournemouth, with both sides having nothing to play for - Chelsea are safe and so are the cherries.

These two sides have only met once in the past, and that was earlier this season when Eddie Howe's side grabbed 1-0 win over the Blues.

Both sides aren't in the best run of form lately, which will mean this should be a highly contested game, both teams wanting to show some fight towards the end of the season.

Chelsea have only won one of their last five games in all competitions, that a 4-0 win away to now relegated Aston Villa.

Bournemouth have won two of their last five Premier League games, even though it is better than Chelsea Howe will still be expecting more from his players.

Team news

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois begins his two-match suspension after his sending off against Manchester City - the second time he has been red carded this season. Captain John Terry is still unavailable with an achilles problem, Kurt Zouma and Loic Remy are also doubts struggling with a knee and groin injury respectively.

Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter is not yet fit to make the trip to Chelsea, he is struggling with an achilles problem. Benik Afobe though is close to a return after suffering a hamstring injury. On the positive side for the cherries Callum Wilson made another substitute appearance against Liverpool and could be involved against Chelsea.

Players to watch

Cesc Fabregas - The Spanish midfielder has been very quiet of late, and struggled once again against Manchester City last weekend. It's been a while since he has controlled a game from the midfield area, scored goals, created them. He knows that he is in a bad run of form, but that quiet spell makes him ever more dangerous. This game could be the perfect one to get him back to what he does best.

Max Gradel - Gradel has only recently returned to cherries side, and after a long injury lay-off he looks back up to speed with the Premier League. After making an immediate impact in the division, Bournemouth fans have really took to the fast paced winger. Now's the time for him to get back and he could well prove to be a nightmare prospect for Chelsea.
