Chelsea FC manager Antonio Conte has praised the response of his players after gathering their first win in four league matches with the 2-0 win over Hull City.

Important to get back on track

There was a hint of pressure on the Italian's side as they headed to the KCOM Stadium, having drawn with Swansea City and lost to both Liverpool and Arsenal in their last three matches.

However, they managed to turn it around against Mike Phelan's side, with two excellent second-half efforts from Willian and Diego Costa, and after the game Conte praised the response of his side.

"It's a very important win," Conte told Sky Sports. "After two defeats it's not easy because you must work and find the right solution to change and improve."

He continued: "We did a good performance with the right intensity and pressure and I like it a lot when the team plays in this way."

Conte concluded: "We got a good reaction because after two defeats it is not easy because the confidence is down."

Concentration is key

It was a good performance all around from the Blues, especially in defence as they managed to keep their first league clean sheet since the win over Burnley, and defender Marco Alonso reiterated that concentration is key.

He told chelseafc.com: "It's the first game I've started in the Premier League for Chelsea, we got three points and a clean sheet so I'm very happy,"

Alonso concluded: "We've been conceding a lot of goals and against Hull we were concentrated for 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet so that was good."

Chelsea FC will take on Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 15 with kick-off at 12:30pm BST.
