Bryan Ruiz has passed a medical in Holland with Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven, according to the player's agent. Rene Vijt confirmed that the player has passed a medical ahead of a loan move that would see the Fulham winger join PSV until the end of the season. It is now left to the two clubs themselves to iron out remaining details to finalise the agreements made.

Vijt said: "He did have a medical at the club and I can say that everything went well. Now it is up to the two clubs before anything else can happen."

The Daily Star reported the news story, following recent comments made by Fulham manager René Meulensteen. The former Manchester United first-team coach admitted last week that the club is looking to move Ruiz on, but denied that the Costa Rica international was a poor signing.

Meulensteen said:

"I wouldn't call his signing a mistake because at the time it was probably for Fulham the right choice and the right investment. Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player.

"I've come in, I've looked at the squad, worked with the players and picked my teams on what I think are the right decisions, but I can also understand Bryan's point of view."

28-year-old Ruiz has made 12 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring once against fellow relegation-threatened Cardiff City.
