According to various sources, Leicester City look to be closing on the transfer of Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa from Russian champions, CSKA Moscow.

Currently being reported by the likes of Sky Sports, BBC Sport and The Leicester Mercury, the Foxes have apparently agreed a fee with CSKA, and Musa will be heading to England early this week to discuss personal terms and complete a medical ahead of a switch to the King Power Stadium.

Record-breaking transfer

Having seen previous bids in the winter transfer window rejected, the Premier League champions now look to have got their man after a reported fee of £16m was accepted by Musa's current club. Reportedly reopening negotiations over a transfer as early as May, the two clubs now finally appear to have reached an agreement over the Nigerian frontman.

Again, this would represent a club-record transfer for Leicester City, which was only broken a few days ago with the purchase of OGC Nice midfielder, Nampalys Mendy.

Nonetheless, regardless of the fee being discussed, the speedy striker's agent has all but confirmed that Musa will be moving to the Premier League in the next few days by saying that "everything has been finalised" and the player "will be in England for his medical on Wednesday".

Experienced

If Musa does arrive in the East Midlands as per the reports, he brings a wealth of experience with him. At only the tender age of 23, the former VVV-Venlo forward has managed to make over 200 senior appearances, scoring a respectable total of 64 goals and providing 41 assists. In fact, he has also made nearly 60 appearances for Nigeria on the international stage and has found the net 11 times, including two against Argentina at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

However, it will be the winner's mentality that Musa will bring to the East Midlands that will please Claudio Ranieri and his staff more than most. In his relatively short career, the rapid striker has managed to win the Russian Premier Liga on three occasions, the Russian Cup once and even has an African Cup of Nations winners medal in his collection.

Moreover, Foxes' fans will also look at the 20 Champions League appearances that Musa has to his name - a useful commodity considering that Ranieri's men will be embarking on their debut campaign in Europe's elite competition this season.

So, there are plenty for Leicester City supporters to get excited about in regards to this particular potential signing.
