Liverpool have secured Jürgen Klopp's long term future at the club, with their German manager signing a new six-year-contract, keeping him at the club until 2022.

Despite Klopp only having taken over from Brendan Rodgers during October of last season, less than a year ago, his initial deal was only until 2018, with the option of a further 12 month extension should owners FSG deem it appropriate.
However, with everyone involved at the club having taken to Klopp so well in his first few months on Merseyside, the American group have moved swiftly to secure his long term future on L4. The new deal was more about length of contract rather than a pay increase, whilst two of Klopp's key staff members, Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz, have also signed new long term deals with the Reds.
German has changed the atmosphere at Liverpool
Since arriving in place of the sacked Rodgers, Klopp has turned the mood around significantly at Liverpool, taking the Reds to two cup finals during his first season at the club, including a heroic run to the final of the Europa League. Although they came out second best on each ocassion, there's no doubt amongst fans that Klopp is the man to lead them forward, possibly to a first league title in this millenium.
Should Klopp leave Liverpool at the end of his six-year-deal, his stay will conclude at seven years, the same amount of time he spent at his two previous clubs, Borussia Dortmund and Mainz.
That statement of intent by the club may well help them in attracting new talent this summer, with many top players from around the globe keen to play under the German, who won two league titles and got to the Champions League final whilst managing back in his native Germany.
In addition, with the everchanging nature of the Premier League, it offers some much needed stability to Liverpool, as they move forward knowing that they've got a truly world class manager leading them for the next six years.
