Had it not been for his proneness to injuries since moving to England in 2011, Aguero would be arguably the best player in the Premier League. When not crocked, the £38m man has an unbelievable natural ability, unmatched anywhere by anyone. The little Argentine's composure and impeccable eye for goal are not contrasted by his startling strength and pace, but complimented. He can dazzle his prey, before moving in for the brutal kill, over and over again. Yet still, he oozes charm and sophistication in everything he does. Sergio Aguero is lethality personified, with a generous helping of the most exquisite delicacy.

This season has been no different, not only in terms of his spectacular impact on the pitch, but also because of an abundance of niggling injuries, particularly around the Christmas period. After barely playing for almost two months and falling behind Chelsea's Diego Costa and QPR's Charlie Austin in the top-scoring charts in February, he returned with a bang, scoring four goals in three games, including a wonderful solo effort against Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League Last 16, not dissimilar to 'that' goal he scored against QPR in 2012, which won City the Premier League under the most dramatic of circumstances.

Before the turn of the year, he carried Manuel Pellegrini's champions through the hard times, scoring a crucial winner agaisnt bitter rivals Manchester United, as well as hitting the back of the net four times against Tottenham in one of the finest individual performances in Premier League history and stealing the show in Europe, with a hat-trick against the almighty Bayern Munich. Sitting second in the Premier League Golden Boot race this season with 17 and already putting away seven in the Champions League, Aguero has proved that nothing will hold him back.

Although the Argentine has yet to score in March, he has continued to prove a constant menace to opposition defences, to whom he is an absolute nightmare to mark. Aguero hit the post twice in the defeat to Liverpool, while also grabbing an assist. In the following two games, he came tantalisingly close to scoring against Leicester and Burnley respectively.

In this season's Champions League campaign, besides converting two penalties, all of Aguero's goals have been marvellous to watch. From solo efforts against Barcelona to cool, composed finishes against Bayern, to tap-ins against CSKA Moscow, the striker has it all. His goal three weeks ago is the reason that Manchester City are still believing that they can triumph tomorrow night and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League for thie first time in their history.

If history is anything to go by though, the Citizens might not have the mental strength to progress in such a crucial game - though there is no better competition in which to write your own history than the UEFA Champions League. Besides if they are to progress - you can be sure that it will be down to a masterclass performance from one man - Sergio 'Kun' Aguero.
