Pep Guardiola's side have started the season in emphatic form and top the Premier League table on goal difference ahead of Chelsea and rivals United, who have also started the season strongly and also have maximum points.
But despite a very difficult match for City against Jose Mourinho’s men, Silva wants his side to walk away with three points and continue their unbeaten run.
“We’ve started the season very well and it should be a great game. But we won’t be playing for a draw.” The Spaniard told a Spanish radio station,
“We will go out to win the match. It’s a ground where in the last few years things have gone okay for us.”
It is one of the most hotly anticipated Manchester derbies in recent years as managers Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho clash once again to resurrect an old rivalry between the pair.
But it won’t be all about the managers as both sides have spent significant money in the summer transfer window to strengthen their squads, and some very high profile names will be involved.
Despite Sergio Aguero being suspended from the match, the Blues have a very much in-form Raheem Sterling to call upon as well as Kevin De Bruyne and Nolito, not to mention Silva himself who is capable of providing that match-winning touch on the big occasion.
United will also be expected to field a strong side with Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to line up for the red devils making the tie an unmissable contest.
With the arrival of Guardiola, it seems the Catalan has breathed new life into the City squad with the likes of Sterling and Silva benefitting from the change of management.
Silva has been a key player for City in their early season good form and scored four goals in two matches for Spain over the international break meaning he will be full of confidence for the derby.
