Manchester United are already planning ahead for the next Premier League season. The club revealed that they will be taking a pre-season tour in China in the summer.

United will be in the Far East for two games, which will be sponsored by their training kit sponsor, Aon. The main match on the tour has been rumoured to be against their arch-rivals Manchester City, who they managed to beat 1-0 over the weekend.

As Sportsmail revealed last year, the club’s sponsors have large ties in with China and are keen to go and visit at any time. Aon and Chevrolet will want to carry on their good run of form by adding to their successful tournaments abroad this year.

United set for Far East tour

Both sponsors contribute a large sum of money to the club each year and they wanted that money to persuade the club to move their pre-season tour to a place where their brands are not widely known. In America, both Aon and Chevrolet are giant brands in their economy so looking at this move from a business sense, it matters.

Not much has been announced about the tour thus far but information regarding the fixture dates, teams that will be playing, venues and prices are expected to be announced in the coming days.

The Red Devils’ vice-Chairman Ed Woodward had commented on the tour by saying that the club have “strong historical links with China” and that the club are proud to have that relationship with the fans there.

United have been to China nine times

United have played there before on tours and all of them seem to have gone well for the club. Since 1975, the club have been there nine times and still are yet to lose after 13 games.

The most recent game they played over there was in 2013 against Kitchee SC in Hong Kong where they won 5-2. The game was a sell out with all 40,000 seats at the stadium full and millions of fans all across Asia watched on through live television.

The fact that the club aren't in the International Champions Cup this year is disheartening for most United fans but, It is fair to say that both of United’s games will be hard to get tickets for as United have around 107 million followers in China alone.
