Herrera says he is confident United can get a top-four place
Herrera was speaking after United got a very important win against Everton at Old Trafford at the weekend which leaves the team one point behind City with seven games to go. The Spanish midfielder, therefore, says that the United players are confident of pipping City to a Champions League spot.
Herrera said to get top-four "you have to maintain this form" of winning a lot of games in a row as it won't be easy as "Manchester City wants to be in the next Champions League" as well. Herrera went on to say that he feels that the team "are ready to do it" and achieve their goals.
Return of injured players back will help the team improve
The Spanish midfielder says it's "very important winning two games in a row" as it gives the team confidence going into a key part of the season. United are starting to get a lot of their injured players back and Herrera feels that this is important "because [United] still have a lot to fight for".
United had an unsuccessful return to the Champions League this season after being knocked out in the group stages which is seen as a failure. Herrera, therefore, says the team must make sure that they get straight back into the competition next season so that they can put this year's disappointment behind them.
Win over Man City shows we are a bit better than them, says Herrera
Herrera says that "Man United should be every year in the Champions League" as they have been in it for so many years and to not have them in it then it's a problem. The Spanish midfielder issued a rallying cry to his teammates saying "as a player are obligated to fight until the end" to give our all as United "have the quality to be there".
United beat City in a game they weren't favourites to win and Herrera says that "showed we are a little better than them right now" and the team believes this. Herrera feels that the result was even better as "we beat them away in the Manchester Derby" so it will give the team confidence they can win all the games that are left.
