According to treble winner Diego Milito, the former Argentina striker thinks that Jose Mourinho, who guided him to that treble at Inter Milan, only gets better when having enemies in the same league.

And in a league where Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Arsenal's Arsene Wenger are assured enemies of the new Manchester United manager, Milito thinks that Mourinho will use such factors as key to his success.

Mourinho succeeds with an enemy according to Milito

Speaking to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the Argentine striker thinks that Jose "sometimes invents enemies himself on purpose" and that is "Guardiola included, just go and ask Pep".

The former UEFA club forward of the year 2009/10 thinks that Mourinho is the perfect fit for United as he "is a great leader of groups" and a coach "of the highest level in the world".

Mourinho will ensure players are protected

Milito worked with Mourinho in the 2009/10 season, winning the historical treble and scoring 22 league goals, and the player is convinced that his former manager "makes sure that every player gives 100 per cent, has the right word at the right moment and can be punishing when necessary. He knows how to protect his team and always needs an enemy to be able to attack or defend his squad."

Not only managers can become enemies of the former Chelsea manager, but the media, referees and the football association are all fine examples of getting the best out of the controversial manager.

Manchester United are currently preparing for the pre-season tour and games before kicking off their 2016/17 campaign away at the Dean Court against AFC Bournemouth on August 14th. They'll play Wigan, Manchester City, and Borussia Dortmund during pre-season with the latter two in China in the International Champions Cup
