Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, has stated that the Red Devils can make signing Paul Pogba, the best player in the world.

The return is imminent

It was confirmed on Sunday that one of the summer's biggest transfer saga's has finally come to an end.

The Red Devils confirmed on Sunday that they had reached an agreement with Juventus, with a medical set to take place at Carrington on Tuesday.

It is expected to be a world-record fee of £93.2m,expected to rise to around £101.7m, with the 23-year-old expecting to sign a five-year return to the club.

Making him one of the best

It capped off a excellent afternoon for Mourinho's side, with goals from Jesse Lingard and a late effort from Zlatan Ibrahimovic secured the Community Shield with a 2-1 win over Leicester City, and Mourinho shared his delight at Pogba's imminent arrival.

He said: "He’s our player assuming everything goes well in the medical" and admitted "I will be there waiting for him on Tuesday."

He continued: "I honestly don’t know the exact amount of money we have paid for Pogba" but believes "if it is a new world record I don’t think we need to be sad about that" as "I know we are getting a very good player and I think United is the perfect club to bring him to the level he wants to be at."

Mourinho concluded: “We want to bring Manchester United to the top again and if you want to be the best player in the world this is the club to join" and believes the club "have everything to offer him and he is coming because he knows the club and the city and he wants to be a part of the Manchester United project.”

Manchester United will take on AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court on Sunday, August 14 with kick-off at 1:30pm BST, with Pogba likely to be in attendance.
