Victor Lindelöf sealed his move to Manchester United from SL Benfica a few days ago, signing a four-year deal with the Red Devils in a transfer worth €35m.

The 22-year-old's arrival at the club marked the first signing of the summer for José Mourinho, United fans hope there will be more of the same before the Premier League season begins against West Ham United at Old Trafford.

Lindelöf speaks about his versatility

Lindelöf's first interview was with MUTV after arriving at the Carrington Training facility, the Swedish International gave a positive first interview with the club's official media channel.

When asked about his versatility on the pitch, Lindelöf answered by speaking about the different roles he's had on the pitch since his debut for Västeras SK in the third tier of the Swedish football leagues.

He said,"My position is a centre-back", he continued by speaking about his days at Benfica where he was also deployed at right-back to great effect. Lindelöf said,"I was playing right-back before" in reference to his time at Benfica.

At Västeras, Lindelöf was also deployed in the middle of the park, the young Swede spoke about how he "started his career as a midfielder".

The 'Ice Man' sees himself as a centre back

Given the inconsistent displays of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones throughout the 2016/17 season, United fans will be excited to see a young solid ball-playing defender alongside Eric Bailly.

Lindelöf has been compared to the likes of Rio Ferdinand due to the way he plays his game and his role in the team of being the calm player in the defence. The Swede's performances for Benfica also earned him the nickname 'The Ice Man'.

Despite his versatility, Lindelöf has made it clear that he "sees" himself as a central defender. He said, "  I see myself as a central defender. I feel most comfortable there."
