It is been reported that newly promoted Norwich City are interested in signing Swansea’s Nathan Dyer this summer.

Dyer had an excellent start to last season with talk of an England call-up ion the cards and, despite a dip in form, he managed 37 games with 5 goals for Garry Monk’s side. The Welsh side finished an impressive eighth and managed to beat their own Premier League points total.

Increased competition could force Dyer to move

The 27-year-old who currently has two years left on his current contract and now isn’t guaranteed a starting place at the Liberty Stadium. The arrival of Marseille’s Andre Ayew has further hindered his chances, as well as having competition from Jefferson Montero and Wayne Routledge.

Dyer’ is apparently willing to fight for his position and is believed to have settled in the area with his wife and child. However, a good offer from manager Alex Neil could possibly turn his head.

Back in March, Monk commented on Dyer’s position: “Nathan had a fantastic start to the season, then he had a little dip and then he came back a bit."

The Swans' boss recognised that he "has probably been a bit more inconsistent", but still said Dyer had made a "fantastic contribution".

Norwich, who secured their place back in the top flight after their 2-0 win over Middlesbrough in the Play-Off final, are looking to add bodies to their squad to help with the likely survival push next season.

They have already seen one potential target slip under the radar, with Jazz Richards completing a permanent move from the Swans to Championship side Fulham earlier in the week.

Monk said there "are no problems whatsoever with Nathan". He admitted that Dyer does "deserve to be in the match-day squads" but says "that isn’t always possible".

Dyer has been at the club since 2009 after a successful loan spell and has made over 200 appearances, in both the Championship and the Premier League, during his six seasons at the Swans.
