Details of visit
The Saints will travel to the King Power to face a Leicester side who are continuing to defy the odds and remain league leaders, especially after beating Newcastle last night 1-0 at the King Power. The match has been chosen for TV coverage by Sky Sports and will kick off at 1:30PM UK time on Sunday the 3rd April.
That weekend is the first after the international break which will enable both sides to recharge the batteries ahead of the final furlong of this hectic campaign. Both sides are solely focusing on the league now as neither have got European competitions to worry about and both are already out of the FA Cup.
The league leaders have had a great run over the Saints winning three of their last five meetings in all competitions. The two met earlier on in the season when a late Jamie Vardy goal rescued a point for the Foxes at St Mary's. The Saints last visit to the King Power was at the beginning of May last year when they tasted a 2-0 defeat with Riyad Mahrez grabbing both the goals on that occasion. This matches visitors last win against the Foxes at the King Power came all the way back in December 2007 when they collected a 2-1 win through goals from Stern John and a penalty from Andrew Surman.
Southampton supporters have been given an allocation of 3,000 for the trip, which will contribute to a fantastic atmosphere as the Foxes close in on the tittle. Leicester is generally considered to be one of the best grounds to watch football currently. The team is playing well and the Foxes fans are deemed as some of the best in the division.
The two sides haven't met an awful lot in recent years but, when it comes to this one there will be a lot baring on the match so you can expect it to be an absolutely cracking match.
