Southampton Football Club have announced their official prices for season tickets for the upcoming 2016/17 campaign at St Mary's Stadium. They will be getting released in early April as fans have the chance to secure their seat ahead of the new season which starts in August.
The club have had another brilliant season and currently lie in seventh place just a couple of points of the Europa League places just behind Manchester United and West Ham United ahead of the final seven matches of the regular season.
The club have been on a constant improvement in the past six years and were well back by Swiss owners something which has led to their much improved performances on the pitch in the past seasons.
Prices frozen for 2016/17 season
In terms of prices they have been frozen for next season meaning that every area in the ground has either remained at the same price or even in some cases been reduced. Of the 20,000 season ticket holders which there currently are, 7,000 of them will see a reduction in the price of their seat which is great news for all football fans particularly with the new TV deal which will come in from next season.
The biggest impact that these prices will have is on the 18-21 age bracket as their tickets have been reduced by as much as £139 for the season. Even adults will be seeing some discount from their tickets as some of their prices have gone down by as much as £58 something which is only a positive for many fans.
Benefits season ticket holders get
As well as getting to watch their side in all nineteen fixtures there are also a number of other quirks and benefits which the season ticket holders receive some of which are; Priority purchase on tickets for away and cup matches, Ten per cent retail discount, Selected discounts on hospitality upgrades as well as many other different things.
The most expensive season ticket that the club sell comes in the Itchen premium stand where fans are charged £737 to sit. The lowest adult price which the club will offer with the new tickets come in the family stand where fans will pay £541 to see their side play. The club also do very good prices for children as under 18's can see their side play for just £150 a season if they were to sit in the family stand for the 19 matches.
