Swansea City have named their 23-man squad that will travel to America this month.

Swansea will be based in Washington, D.C. as they will face Charlotte Independence (July 13) and Richmond Kickers (July 16).

Who made the cut?

The two new signings, Leroy Fer and Mike van der Hoorn, have both made the squad and will likely play a large part in both games.

Several youngsters have also made the grade, such as Daniel James, Joe Rodon, Connor Roberts, Oliver McBurnie, Adam King and Jay Fulton.

Explosive winger Kenji Gorre has also made the squad, and will be keen to impress manager Francesco Guidolin and show the Italian that he can be a real weapon this season.

Who misses out?

Ashley Williams, Neil Taylor, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Lukasz Fabianski will all miss the trip, as they have been given extended leave due to their Euro 2016 commitments.

Ki Sung-Yeung and Jefferson Montero will also miss the trip due to international duties.

Matt Grimes also won’t travel as he has completed his loan move to Garry Monk’s Leeds United today, following in Kyle Bartley’s footsteps.

What’s the deal with Bafetimbi Gomis?

Bafetimbi Gomis is the only senior recognised striker at the club at the minute, but he wasn’t named in the squad to travel to America.

There has been no news of an injury to the Frenchman, fuelling discussion that he will move away from the club sooner rather than later.

French reports have recently claimed that the striker will join Marseille on loan, to replace Michy Batshuayi who has left the club to link up with Antonio Conte at Chelsea.
