Fulton played 87 minutes before he was substituted for Ki Sung-Yeung, shortly before the hosts equalised.
The Scottish midfielder is targeting more Premier League appearances, and wants to add to the two appearances he has made this season.
“I was very happy to get my first Premier League start. I’ve waited for my chance and worked hard in training to do the best I can.” said Fulton, who impressed the fans and pundits alike with his performance.
Fulton added that he was happy with his performance and that hopefully he can keep putting in performances to stay in the starting eleven: “Obviously we have a big game against Palace this weekend, and three points would be a really big boost for us. Hopefully I can play from the start and do what I can to help the team.”
Can Fulton stay in the side?
The 22-year-old was drafted into the team due to Leon Britton’s injury, and was one of eight changes that manager Bob Bradley made from the loss to Manchester United.
There will be calls for Britton to return to the side, as he is a player of immeasurable importance to the club, but it would definitely be harsh if Fulton were to make way.
Fulton completed 29 passes against Everton, two successful tackles, three interceptions, three clearances, one block, and his touch map is very similar to ones Britton has produced over the years.
Possible team versus Palace?
Bradley has made 20 changes in total, in the four games since his first Swansea fixture at Arsenal. He hasn’t found a winning formula yet, so it wouldn’t be a shock if he were to ring the changes again.
While he performed well in the false-nine role, it’s thought that with a home game against a weaker side, a natural striker should move into the starting lineup. This probably means one of the three midfielders will be sacrificed.
Leroy Fer made one of his more well-rounded performances against Everton, but there’s a belief that he can’t perform his defensive duties when he is in a two-man midfield.
Although, as of late it has been impossible to predict Bradley’s matchday lineups. After his performance against Everton, Fulton should be involved in it this weekend.
