West Ham United midfielder Edmilison Fernandes has said that he is expecting a tough game on Sunday as the Hammers go head-to-head with Ronald Koeman's Everton.

Keep the run going

Fernandes has began to emerge as a major player in Slaven Bilic's side since his arrival this summer, and has been key in the Hammers recent rise in form.

West Ham are currently on a three-game winning streak, with wins over Crystal Palace, Sunderland and the 2-1 win over Chelsea midweek. They will look to make it four when they travel to Goodison Park, and Fernandes believes that they can expect a tough game.

“We are all delighted to have won three games in a row, the confidence and the atmosphere (among the squad) is good,” Fernandes told whufc.com.“We have to make sure we keep working hard every day in training and keep at this level."

He continued: "When you have confidence, it helps you win matches so it is very important."

Fernandes concluded: “Everton are a very big club, so it will be a difficult game. They are strong all over the pitch, but we also have good players.”

He has everything

The 20-year-old is still very young, after his move from Sion this summer, and Bilic has praised his impact so far.

“It’s a great thing to see him make an impact like he has,” Bilic said. “It’s always great to see a new player doing well, especially if it’s a young player like he is."

He added: “We shouldn’t forget that he’s only 20-years-old, he came to a new country and doesn’t speak great English, so it was probably hard for him."

Bilic concluded: “But since the first day, he has been really good and positive and very brave in training and you could see from the start that he’s a very talented player."

West Ham United will take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday October 30 with kick-off at 1:30pm BST.
