Borussia Dortmund announced the signing of Hertha Berlin forward, Adrian Ramos. The Colombian striker makes his switch from the capital to Westphalia on July 1st, signing a four year contract with Die Borussen for a fee believed to be within the margain of €11 million.

This season has seen Adrian Ramos flourish in Germany's top flight, scoring sixteen Bundesliga goals and assisting five in twenty-nine outings during Hertha's return to the Bundesliga, after a years absence. Dortmund were faced with the mountainous task of replacing the departing Pole, Robert Lewandowski, after his well documented agreement to join native rivals Bayern Munich. However, the addition of Adrian Ramos seems to have ended the search entirely, signing what seems the most like-for-like striker in Germany. Ramos joins on-loan Augsburg hitman Ji Dong Won with the Dortmund squad next season, providing further firepower for next season and beyond. The loss of Hertha's star man now leaves them with the unwanted situation of finding an adequate replacement, something the club may struggle to do, due to the impact the big Colombian has provided. After a steady season and another €11 million in the bank, Hertha Berlin have the finances available to recruit suitably.

Upon signing Ramos, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has this to say with an interview for the Bundesliga's official site;

"Adrian Ramos is an exceptional footballer and a top goalscorer in German football. He fits perfectly with Dortmund's requirements."

Ramos' arrival to Borussia Dortmund is a signal of their intent, proving they're not sitting back in replacing Lewandowski in their search to improve next season. It is expected that Ramos will not be the last transaction from Dortmund's bank account, despite the signing of Ji Dong Won on a costless and Nuri Sahin returning to the club permanently.
