Sporting Director of VfL Wolfsburg, Klaus Allofs, was quick to move to squash suggesstions that a €28 million offer was made for the services of Alvaro Morata. A potential deal at that cost would have seen Morata become Wolfsburg's most expensive signing, and smashing the record for the third time in under twelve months - with the fee higher than what was paid for Luiz Gustavo and Kevin De Bruyne. Morata has been one of the many strikers linked with a switch to the VW Arena as Wolfsburg look to bolster their attacking options having qualified for the Europa League. However, Allofs was quick to deny claims of a mega-money transfer for the Spaniard. In an interview with waz, Allofs was quoted;

"This is complete nonsense. We have not made a bid for Morata."

Despite recent links to the U21 international, Morata has also been linked with a move to Arsenal and Juventus; with the player reportedly keen a switch to the Italian champions. However, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has dismissed claims that Juventus are close to signing the wantaway frontman. In an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena SER, Pérez was quoted:

"I am friends with the Juventus executives and president Andrea Agnelli, But I have not spoken to them regarding Morata and honestly, the possibilities that he goes to play in Turin are zero.

Pérez also went on to say: "I will meet the player and we will try to find the best solution for him and for the club."

Morata is reported to be considering his options as he has failed to make a significant impact in the Spanish capital, whilst struggling for chances. Despite making twenty-three appearances in La Liga for Los Blancos, Morata only started three of them matches - scoring eight goals in the process. The player is reportedly in the search for further first-team chances, and is believed to be open to move away to get them.

It comes as no surprise that Morata's name was thrown into the mix of strikers linked to VfL Wolfsburg. 'Die Wölfe' are known to be in the market for a striker who can offer a physical presence, as well as an eye for a goal. Alongside Madrid's budding forward, the likes of Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea), Pierre-Michel Lasogga (Hertha Berlin) and Mame Biram Diouf (Hannover) have all been rumoured targets for Wolfsburg.
