Bayern Munich defender Dante is hoping to figure more in Pep Guardiola’s team during the second half of the season.

Whilst the Brazil international has featured predominantly in the Bundesliga. The defender has only started two games from a possible six in their Champions League group stage.

Bayern Munich boast one of the best defences which includes the likes of Mehdi Benatia and Jérôme Boateng. The Bavarian club will also welcome back Holger Badstuber and Javi Martinez over the coming months.

The 31-year old defender had acknowledged his desire to stay at the Allianz Arena, playing a key role.

“Every time I’m on the pitch, I try to show that I’m here to help our team,” he told Kicker. “But if I do not play a few games, I’m not so happy.

“No matter what the coach decides, it is important that we win everything in the end.”

Bayern Munich currently sit 11 points clear of Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga and will return to domestic action against the second-placed club on January 30.

With a 25th Bundesliga title seemingly on its way to the Allianz Arena again, Guardiola will be keen to divide his attentions between the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and the Champions League.

The Bundesliga club drew Shakhtar Donetsk in the last-16 of the Champions League. However Dante has warned his teammates not to lose concentrations.

“We are very pleased about the big lead we have so far, we have done great, but we must win the big teams,” he added.

“Bundesliga games are always important but if we continue to stay focused, we can maintain this advantage.”
