RB Leipzig have done yet another deal with sister club Red Bull Salzburg, this time securing Rodnei until the end of the season.
The Brazilian defender returns to Germany after a 3-year stint with the Austrian champions, having joined from FC Kaiserslautern in 2012.
Rodnei had spent a year with Hertha Berlin before moving to the Red Devils, meaning he has 91 games of Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga experience behind him.
Unfortunately injuries have hampered his latest season in Salzburg, having failed to feature once all campaign.
Although sporting director Ralf Rangnick was happy to report he now have a clean bill of health, "He completed the winter training camp with Red Bull Salzburg and was able to prepare fully without any problems."
He continued, "Rodnei brings 2. Bundesliga experience and is also very familiar with the way we play. We are pleased that we were able to sign another option for our defensive area in Rodnei."
The vastly experienced defender could make his debut in the derby game against Erzgebirge Aue on Friday.
