FC Augsburg's Brazilian attacker Caiuby netted his first Bundesliga goal since October 2008 and he couldn't hide his delight at finally scoring.

Augsburg drew 2-2 with Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend, with Marwin Hitz scoring a dramatic late equaliser in the final minute. Caiuby had initially brought the teams level in the 59th minute, his first Bundesliga goal for seven years.

"I'm thrilled," he beamed. "The team has shown everyone we are strong with our fans behind us. It was a great game in the second half. It's always good to score a goal."

The Bavarians are currently fifth in the Bundesliga and their amazing season, whilst beginning to stutter in the last few weeks, still seems set to continue.

"I always try to show that the coach should use me from the start," he added. Caiuby has made just three appearances for the start this season, making a further thirteen from the bench.

Markus Weinzierl, who has shepherded his team from relegation contenders to European hopefuls, commented on the forward's cameo: "We know what we have in him. He was, with his aerial ability and speed, an important point for an improving performance."
