Napoli continued their excellent recent form by beating Trabzonspor by a goal to nil at home, thanks to a first half strike from Dutch international Jonathan De Guzman. The hosts ran out 5-0 winners on aggregate after a super away performance last week, and find themselves in tomorrow's Europa League last 16 draw.

Trabzonspor knew, after a 4-0 home drubbing last week, that they needed a miracle to progress and it was quite clear that one wouldn't be forthcoming when De Guzman opened the scoring after 19 minutes.

Napoli swiftly counter attacked, with Jose Callejon's near post effort saved by Trabzonspor 'keeper Hakan Arikan, only for De Guzman to slam home the rebound with a volley.

Napoli continued to dominate for large periods of the match and came close to extending their lead on multiple occassions, most notably efforts from Callejon and Dries Mertens. Arikan did well in the goal to keep the score down and restore a level of pride for the Turkish outfit.

They did almost find some joy as a Fatih Akin put the ball into the Napoli goal, only for it to be ruled out by the offside flag.

The hosts ran out eventual 1-0 winners, and now could face sides such as Everton and AS Roma in the next round of the competition. The draw will be made tomorrow.
