At the Sparkassen-Erzgebirgsstadion, two releagation threatened sides, Ergebirge Aue and SpVgg Greuther Fürth, played a dull nil-nil draw in the second division of German football.

The first good look came through the hosts in the 12th minute of play through Kortzorg. He hit a delicious ball from the left flank, waiting in the middle of the box was Alibaz, however, it was hit just a little too hard and could not get anything on the ball. Three minutes later, Alibaz tried to release Mugosa, but Alibaz did not put the correct weight on the pass.

Männel came up huge for Aue in the 26th minute as he parried away a good shot taken by Fürstner from the right side of the eighteen yard box. The best opportunity of the first half came nine minutes later, through Tripic on the left. His cross is a good one and and Krocsmar was waiting, but his header just missed the target. That was the last decent attack from either club as the first half ended without a goal and few attacks few and far between.

Aue came out of the gates quickly at the start of the second half and pressured Greuther's defense early, but nothing really happened in the end of their opening flurry. Not much happened again until the 61st minute of the match when Alibaz was free down a flank and he crossed the ball into the box. Mugosa met the ball with his hed, but Hesl was able to come up big when he was called upon to do so. The last chance of the match came in the 84th minute, through Mugosa once more. He was in alone on goal, but the Greuther shot stopper came up big again to deny Aue the three points.

Both clubs are in a relegation battle, but Aue really needed this victory as they currently sit in 17th, level on points with St. Pauli. Greuther Fürth at least has a little bit of breathing room, being in that 14th position. It's tight down near the bottom and every point is absolutely vital for the remainder of the season.
