Napoli manager Rafa Benitez has been tipped to become the next manager of Real Madrid, with Carlo Ancelotti reportedly on the brink of leaving the La Liga club.

Ancelotti's Real Madrid exit is widely expected in the summer after what has been a disappointing season and Benitez has been linked with filling the vacancy.

Los Blancos will finish runners-up to Barcelona in La Liga and last week were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Juventus in the semi-final.

Ancelotti still has a year left on his contract in Madrid, however, he is not expected to see that through. Reports suggest he is the favourite to take the reigns at AC Milan when his departure from the Bernabeú is comfirmed.

Meanwhile, Rafa Benitez has emerged as a surprise candiadate to fill the vacancy at Real Madrid. The 55-year-old will be avaliable as his current contract at Napoli expires this summer.

Benitez is highly-rated in La Liga after winning two domestic titles in a three-year spell at the helm of Valencia. He also boasts a Champions League win to his name from his time at Liverpool, a feat he will be expected to achieve again if he takes over at Real Madrid.

He has also recieved interest from West Ham, who could be looking to replace Sam Allardyce this summer. But, Benitez is set to snub a return to the Premier League if an offer to return to his boyhood club, Real Madrid, arises.
