Elche manager Fran Escriba is the favourite to take over the managerial  position at Europa League champions Sevilla - if Unai Emery was to leave in the summer, reports suggest.

Emery has been heavily linked with jobs across the continent but in particular the Napoli Job. The position is open after boss Rafael Benitez announced his departure before been revealed at Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Napoli failed to qualify for the Champions League and are confident that Emery is the man to return to them to Europe’s top competition and are willing to offer him an apparent three-year €3.5 million deal.

Escriba, who has also been linked with the Getafe job has worked wonders since arriving at Elche in 2012 and has managed to keep the side away from relegation for the past two seasons on a shoe-string budget.

He has shown his real credentials in the past season keeping his players focused on the task despite the clubs major problems off the pitch. The club have been struggling for months and players were not paid for months at a time.

Despite their survival in La Liga, they could face administrative relegation due to their debts and the fact that they currently have just 10 players in their team going into the 2015/16 season.
