Zinedine Zidane confirmed he will stay at Real Madrid Castilla for another season in an interview on Radio Monte Carlo.

Zidane took charge of Real's 'B' team last season although he was officially listed as assistant because he didn't have the correct badges to take charge of the team with Santiago Sanchez officially holding the title of manager. Zidane has now got his UEFA Pro License so he can manage at any of the top clubs in Europe.

In the interview Zidane confirmed; "I am going to continue for one more year at Castilla because it is what I want to do now. I will take a few days off, but soon I will prepare for next season. I will have more young players because Real Madrid C will disappear. I will have to pick 23 players from a group of 60 and I like that. I have no ambition beyond Castilla for now, then we’ll see."

Zidane also spoke of how he almost left Real to take over at Bordeaux last season and of his sadness at Carlo Ancelotti's departure. On Ancelotti he had this to say, "It hurts me for him and for what he did. At the same time I know how Madrid works. He knew that it could happen. I have great respect for him as a man and as a coach. I loved working alongside him."

Zidane endured a mixed first season with Castilla. The team were top of the league in January but a run of just four wins in their last sixteen games saw the side finish in sixth place, two points off the playoffs and he will be looking to put that right next season.
