Barcelona are once again Champions of Europe, having beaten Serie A champions Juventus 3-1 in Berlin earlier tonight.

It didn't take long for Barcelona to assert their authority in the game, with creative midfielder Ivan Rakitic finishing off a sublime team move, which involved all ten outfield players, to give the La Liga side the lead after just four minutes.

Speaking after the final whistle, Rakitic acknowledged the magnitude of his goal, which set Barcelona on their way to victory: "That has to be the most important goal of my career," he said.

However, Barcelona did not have it all their own way. Álvaro Morata equalised for Juventus and quickly it began to seem as though the tides were turning in the match.

Juventus midfielder, Claudio Marchisio, said that his side regained their composure after the shock of Barcelona's early opening goal and began to pose a serious threat. Marchisio said: "We got the measure of them after that and once we scored the equaliser we were in control of the game. If we'd just managed to take the lead, the match could have ended very differently."

But unfortunately for Marchisio and his Juve team-mates, the outcome was somewhat predictable and that was Barcelona, who have been so ruthless all season, put the game beyond all doubt. Messi, who was playing in a more creative role as opposed to the main man position we are used to seeing, drilled a shot which Buffon could only parry into the path of Luis Suárez. The Uruguayan made no mistake in restoring Barcelona's lead.

This lead was extended further with the last kick of the game, with Neymar roudning off an impressive victory. An emotional Neymar at full-time commented: "I cried because of my history, how I got where I am right now and the emotion of scoring such important goal."

Another sentimental moment came 15 minutes from time, when Xavi Hernández came on for Andrés Iniesta to make his final ever appearance for Barcelona before he moves on to Qatari side Al Sadd. The midfield maestro stated: "There are no words, I can't ask for any more - To leave this way is perfect."

Barcelona may also be facing the prospect of losing their manager, Luis Enrique, too. In his post-match press conference, Enrique first spoke of his pride of his players. "I never thought we'd win a treble, but these players have shown they do not get tired of winning. It's a good feeling, we're very happy, there was a lot of tension but we have a unique and amazing group of players."

But, when asked if he know whether he will stay on at the Nou Camp, Enrique said: "No, the truth is I do not, but I'm happy at the moment."

Meanwhile, his opposition counterpart, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was full of praise for Barcelona: "They were extraordinary, and we were not able to contain them."

Allegri went on to mention the achievement of his own players this season and how they can build on it going into their next campaign: "I think Juventus had a remarkable season with the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and reaching the Champions League Final. What more could we have done? Now our task is to consolidate our position in the top eight of Europe, which in turn will make us even stronger in Serie A."
